Next weekend is the Martin Luther King weekend, I think. That'll help.

The limited releases look good for my Pair game. Even though my derby is pretty much screwed.

I went low on the limited releases because all others did too :x :x
Originally I had $1 million for Rwanda and $1.4 million for MDB, but wnet considerably down after having seen that others predicted much lower

So every "professional" predictor underestimated a new horror movie coming into the market? Stunning.

Lee predicted 7 mil. for the weekend and White Noise passed that total by over a 1.8 mil. margin on Friday itself.

I was thinking about $20 million as well. Like everyone else, I low-balled, but it seems everyone who runs a prediction website downgrades any new horror film coming out. People predicted a $6 million opening? It just seems they don't understand how big of a market there is. Hell, Lee pretty much said on his website he doesn't even expect Ring Two to top $30 million opening weekend.

Me too. I went under 1m for Kinsey. I really don't get what was with those 2m+ predictions. Even the ones over 1m seemed to high for me.
I took a risk by going over 1m for both Hotel Rwanda and Million Dollar Baby. I even though of going as high as 1.6m for MDB, but chickened out.
Looks like the marketing over the past week has paid off for Hotel Rwanda.

Also White Noise probably indicates good things for other coming horror films such as The Ring Two. The genre has been doing so well over the past couple years, and the PG-13 horrors are especially doing well.
BTW, I'm also glad with those TPE numbers. I predicted 2.5, so I'll probably be one of the few with any percentage on their score.

I predicted only 2.2 million for Polar Express, so I'll definetely score points for that. I also predicted 16 million for White Noise, so that number doesn't surprize me that much.
Also, did you look at the Per Screen Average for Finding Neverland? Are the public interest's increasing again?

It might really have an outside shot. I'd still guess about 285m though. 8) 300m would be awesome. It's amazing to think that it will finish in the same proximity as the LOTR films. I don't think there should be any doubt: this is the best release date of the year.

Yeah, great numbers for FN. I'm not suprised though, I always expected great legs from it.

The average for Finding Neverland is actually $566. BOM has it at 107 theatres

I predicted 2.6 and got like 37% or something, so you should have a decent score,(well compared to everyone else.)

Well thats a bit hypocritical is it not? And the whole "i low balled like everyone else" stuff suggests to me that too many people are copying other peoples predictions....
Which also would explain why we have maybe 5 major box office websites with very low, very similar predictions.

Awsome for MDB, it'll probably have a pta of about 15k and maybe Hotel Rwanda can get 10k.

I went with 1.6M with M$B and 1.0M with Hotel Rwanda. I didn't think it's that risky from my analysis.
I had 2.8 for TPE.
