My sister-in-law spent about four of her teenage years with her family in Brazil. They were missionaries and lived in a jungle area. One day a family came to them for help because their two year old son was missing. He evidently had wandered off and couldn't be found.
After organizing a search party, they eventually found a large snake (not sure if it was a python or ananconda) stretched out in a large clearing sunning himself. It seems he had quite a large meal and was digesting it because there was a large bump in his stomach. They killed the snake and cut his stomach open......revealing the missing two year old boy.
That's one of the most frightening stories I've ever heard.
i saw a picture of that, do y'all want to see?

i still don't understand how u can tell how big the snake is from the pic, much less the size of its head...
the only thing i can make out in the whole pic is the snake itself, everything else is kinda blurry....

Almost, but not quite. Ya, revel in that, puny normals. I'm afraid to ask... what snake?
My Dick Cheney, without the Cheney. Is that clearer?

Maybe nevermind...?

My problem with that picture is that theres no benchmark to compare the snake size to. I dont see any trees, vehicles, etc to compare the size of the snake. It could be a mini snake. I still say the picture of the lochness monster is just a soft shell turtle extending its neck out. It could happen!

Token Brown Dude wrote: no neeed to close it bkb ..... the conversation thast was taken place in this thread that was actually RELATED to the anacondas was very interesting.
I read quite a bit about them when i was bored once .. along with other snakes ....
i have to read up on pythons again .. i always thought pythons were a category and anacondas belonged to them .... maybe i'm mixing up names again.
What disturbs me is that this pic is from a copter yet theres no reflection of the glass or any helicopter element in it .... and it doesn't seem like a fake ... which means the person is prolly taking the pic without something protecting him from falling ... scary!!
Yeah that's what I figured to.. He was hanging outside of the helicopter trying to get the best shot and view as possible and got it.. Theres a part of me that would've loved to seen this thing upclose on the ground, provided I had like a rocket launcher or bazooka to nail him if he came at me..

I'm basing this on actually sitting inside of the helicopter, which I've flown in one before back in 1996 when I went to Hawaii for a couple of weeks and I can look at that pic long enough and see the ground with the snake on it and judge the girth of it and tha ccuracy of the pic.. It's real alright and a very rare thing to see indeed..

*snicker*
This thread is hilarious. By the first five posts I couldn't believe that this thread failed to go in either of the two clear ways I anticipated it going.
1. That snake looks an awful lot like a gummy worm (notice the alternating light/dark coloration) set on the ground of some beach with unrefined sand (try Maine).
2. Killer virility puns (minus bABA and Boxie whom i think caught onto that).
*continues to snicker*
