 January 7-9 Predictions
Only one opener, but a few movies are expanding. White Noise should open to over $15 million, even with the 2,000 theater count. Hopefully, though, it'll have a much higher theater count so it may be able to break $20 million.
Meet the Fockers - $27 million
White Noise - $16 million

You are one of the few (including me & Zingaling, based on his 16 mil. pred.) that think that this movie looks interesting and may do reasonably well
@Zingaling: Are you expecting a decent movie with this one?

I'm 90% sure it will be horrible, but I'm paying to see it because: a) it has an intriguing concept, and b) I want to see Michael Keaton make a comeback.

1. Meet the Fockers - $30.2 (-29.4%)
2. White Noise - $15.0 (NEW)
3. The Aviator - $8.6 (-23%)
4. Lemony Snicket - $6.9 (-53%)
5. Ocean's Twelve - $5.3 (-42%)
6. Fat Albert - $5.2 (-51%)
7. Spanglish - $4.4 (-30%)
8. National Treasure - $4.2 (-40%)
9. Kinsey - $3.8 (Expansion)
10. The Phantom of the Opera - $3.7 (-22%)
11. The Polar Express - $3.2 (-44%)
12. The Life Aquatic - $3.2 (-25%)
** Darkness - $1.9 (-58%)
All teen or kid movies will fall harder this weekend, obviously. Meet the Fockers is a broad audience, and Mrs Doubtfire fell 29% on the exact same weekend, so Meet the Fockers shouldn't have too big of a drop. White Noise is a teen movie, so it will have a not-so-high gross. Darkness gets the double wammy of competition and teen desertion.

Yeah, over ten years ago...
It will have a very good hold, though.

Yes, very much. To me, it's the most appealing movie this month. I love the concept of the movie, and it has the potential to be a great movie if they don't screw it up.
