Re: Friday Estimates (finally here again)
I'm so confused. I thought only 200 theaters were opening around the country for AMC, how were there another 1600 ready to go? It's so hard to find any info on this. Anyone have any reliable sites that give a comprehensive list of theaters that are open?

Re: Friday Estimates (finally here again)
Also do you count a PSA average of only 450 theaters to make up for the 25% capacity? If that's the case that would be more like a 4k psa for Friday, which would be very good. But some are at 50% capacity as well.

Re: Friday Estimates (finally here again)
Distributors switched from screen count to theater count in the early 1990s, so it doesn't matter...

Anyone have any reliable sites that give a comprehensive list of theaters that are open? If I recall, about 1000 non chain theaters were open before yesterday. Plus regal, cinemark and Marcus began opening theaters yesterday as well.

I doubt Unhinged would have made much more than ~$4M in a normal weekend so that number is actually kinda great.

Re: Friday Estimates (finally here again)
Canada box office last weekend gave a clue here. It's often 1/10 of the domestic tally in usual times. Unhinged did about 600K last weekend.
Spongebob did $870 K last weekend in Canada so probably would have done $8 m ish if it opened domestically.
The Spongebob Movie in 2015 did $55,365,012 domestically. So let's extrapolate that current box office is about 15% it's usual.
Add in pent up demand, a holiday, could probably spike that to closer to 20-25%. Based on these few data points and high chance for error, going to guess Tenet does $22.5 M OW.
