 Josie and the Pussycats Josie and the Pussycats Quote: Josie and the Pussycats is a 2001 comedy film released by Universal Studios and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was directed and co-written by Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan. The film is loosely based upon the Archie comic of the same name.

Re: Josie and the Pussycats A hilarious and incredibly well-written satire of the music and entertainment industry. It's incredibly underrated and quite a charmer. I'd highly recommend it.

Re: Josie and the Pussycats I remember having to watch this in a Pop Culture class, the assignment was to count all of the product placements in the movie. I got over 50 before losing interest, but I think the final count was over 200, the most in cinema history. I know that it was part of the satire, but I doubt it stopped them from collecting checks from all those companies.

They approached the companies, who agreed.

Re: Josie and the Pussycats This should seriously be a cult classic. The dialogue is absolutely golden and some of the humor is so random and hilarious. It's a perfect satire of the early 2000s pop culture, IMO.

Parker Posey is so hilarious in this.
