Quote:
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995) is the sequel to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994). Jim Carrey reprises his role as the title character Ace Ventura, a detective who specializes in cases involving animals. This is the only sequel to a film starring Carrey in which Carrey reprised his role to date. Ian McNeice, Simon Callow, and Sophie Okonedo costar. Tommy Davidson, who co-starred with Carrey on TV's In Living Color, makes a cameo appearance in the film.

It was written and directed by Steve Oedekerk, who had also collaborated in the making of the earlier movie. Original director Tom Shadyac left after shooting began.

It's okay. Not even close to the original, and doesn't really have the rewatchable value the original has either, but it's still pretty decent.

B-

Yeah, a step down from the original, I guess I just wasn't into the nature setting for Ace, it didn't really click as much with me. Still pretty decent though, Carrey is once again good, and it gets points for the rhino and slinky scenes.

Eh? It is one of the best comedy sequels ever, living up (though not reaching) to the first film, another great turn by Carrey, lots of hilarious stuff...the rhino birth scene is one of the funniest scenes I have ever witnessed. Man, I wish Carrey made just one last Ace Ventura film...now we're stuck with some Son of the Mask 2.

I hadn't seen this probably since I first saw it back in 95. I always thought it wasn't as funny, but I gave it props for being original. But man, this movie holds up well and you forget how funny Carrey use to be. This movie is hilarious from the ridiculous Cliffhanger spoof to the entire plot line. The Rhino Birth, the village fight, Monopoly Man, the torture scene, and a lot of the jokes in general are great. I'm not sure he could do this anymore, but I think Carrey should try just to see if he can do it. A real surprise.

Solid A
