 The 'Amazing Race 9' Thread
After a disastrous "family" edition, the best reality show on television returns for its ninth season in the format we all know and love. It premieres tomorrow (Tuesday, February 28) from 9-11 PM. It will regularly run on Tuesdays at 10 PM on CBS.

Ahh I'm so excited to have the Amazing Race back! It's been way too long since we've had a regular season, what with the Family edition last season and the Romber show before it. I've got high hopes and I don't think I'll be disappointed.

Yes they are airing this season in Australia co-currently with America. So no waste of bandwith. They went to the city I was born. I will tell you when it happens, because I was in my hometown when they were filming this.
The network that airs the series ditched the family series.

According to things I've heard, Lake and Michelle are like Jonathan and Victoria, except Lake isn't as creepy and Michelle isn't as "intimidated" as Victoria was. Meh.
Interesting couplings, I want to see the self-proclaimed nerds they showed in the ad a while ago.

I don't really support anyone with the name "Lake."

You should. Like I've said before, it's a more-than-worthy replacement for our dearly departed Mole.

Awesome, of course.
Varied dynamic personalities have already emerged.
And it's just so, so, so, so, so, so, so much more exciting in, like, 10 minutes than Family Edition was in its entire run.
Thank goodness.

Oh, I'm so happy it's back. The eliminated team was kind of annoying so I won't even miss them anyway.

This is the first "real" (two contestants on each team- not the boring-ass "Family Edition") Amazing Race season I ever watched. It was friggin' AWESOME. Very suspenseful and funny incidents happened very frequently.
BJ and Tyler rock! Go "hippies"!

Ah, it was just as good as hoped. Though it would have helped if they tossed in a road block but really it'd be riveting television even if they stretch the whole thing out to four hours. I'm glad John/Scott were eliminated since they were pretty annoying, and I love the screaming, pants-peeing Glamazons. I love Wanda/Desiree, the hippies, and the nerds too, and I want Fran/Barry, Lake/Michelle and Monica/Joseph to leave soon. Lake is pretty par for the course as far as overbearing jackasses go, not as bad as Jonathan but right around the level of Ray or Colin.
And Fran/Barry have the potential to grow on me but damn were they annoying this episode. Wah wah wah, we can't find the clue for an hour even though it's right there in front of us. It must have not been there before! The producers must have snuck in when we weren't looking and plopped it down!. "ooh I know how to assemble a motorcyle, I'm so good at this!" followed by "watch Lake dear! maybe he knows what he's doing" then "he didn't really show us what to do, he said that he would show us!" and finally ending with "oh I didn't think it would be this hard. we are going to be eliminated. we're last. boohoo wah wah pout." Do the detour yourself! Why should anyone have to show you what to do? They have no right to be disappointed with someone for not helping them out when Lake had absolutely no reason or obligation to give them any sort of help. Worst old folks team ever.

I was actually gonna watch it... but it was the only time my dad had to help me fill out this school aid fafsa stuff. I don't want to tune in now and not know what's going on.
On the one hand, I really can't afford another hour of television in my week, but if they repeat it, I'll sacrifice an hour of procrastination every Tuesday night

I'm rooting for Team 70's and Team Nerd Couple. They're both fantastic. I'm so glad the annoying gay couple is out.
