 American Wedding
American Wedding Quote: American Wedding (also known as American Pie 3: The Wedding or American Pie: The Wedding) is a 2003 comedy film that is a sequel to American Pie and American Pie 2 as part of the American Pie film series. It was written by Adam Herz and directed by Jesse Dylan. The story has the friends from the first two films getting together again, this time to celebrate the wedding of Jim (Jason Biggs) and Michelle (Alyson Hannigan).

I think this is significantly worse than the second movie, but still slightly better than the second. All in all, it is a very worthy conclusion to one of the funniest franchises of all time. It is purely Stifler's movie and Scott owns every bit of it. However, the fact that the ensemble doesn't really matter that much hurts it a little too. The pacing is not too consistant and not all jokes work. Those that do, however, are incredibly hilarious.

Worst of the series, but still hilarious as most points.

Wadda you guys live in, Bizzaroland?
This was the best of the series, even toppimg the hilarious first entry in the series.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to tell you there was a thirty second period in the middle of this movie where the entire audience was quite literally convulsed with laughter. This is a crude, rude, belly-laugh filled, noble scion to the proud line of it's grandfather American Pie 1, and a rebuke to it's bastard father American Pie 2. This reminds me of last year's mid-summer comedy classic Austin Powers 3: Goldmember (another series that is also ominously following the Star Trek odd-number-good pattern). If Stifler and the gang make you want to "hang out with your wang out", get thee to a nunnery, or go see American Wedding now!!!
5 out of 5.

Sweeter than the others, though you can tell it was a bit chopped-up in the editing room. It's funnier than the second.

The Star Trek pattern is even number good. "Wrath of Khan," "The Voyage Home," "The Undiscovered Country," and "First Contact" (widely considered the best movies in the series) were all even-numbered entries.

Oh, and I agree about the pattern. The second American Pie was forgettable.
I'd rank them-
American Pie - B.
American Pie 2 - C/C-
American Wedding - B-
American Pie: Band Camp - no doubt awful. Thus the pattern continues.
The third was a very cute, somewhat funny fluff movie. Great summer entertainment and a fun bookend to a pretty memorable series.

It worked for the series too:
TOS - Good
Animated - Bad
TNG - Good
DS9 - Bad
VOY - Good
ENT - Bad

First of all, they were all *exceptional entertainment* *I'm lying, but c'mon. They're fluff! And sometimes thought provoking*
But if we must use good and bad to describe the paradigm of science fiction television and cult entertainment!
TOS - BAD
Animated - BAD
TNG - GOOD
DS9 - Teh Best, err, GOOD
VOY - Meh, GOOD
ENT - Double Meh, GOOD
There isn't a pattern I can see
It's like labeling your children. Damn you, bradley.

I apologize for sidetracking this thread - I have created a new thread on the relative merits of the Star Trek TV series over in the "TV" forum for anyone interested...

Still funny, but even more irreverent and pointless. Purely a showcase for Stifler. He's pretty funny, but it grows tiresome at times. And it can be a painfully silly at times.

 Re: American Wedding
A big step up from the disappointing American Pie 2, almost as good as the first one - surprisingly, for very different reasons. Even though it was sad to see that the whole cast couldn't return, the characters they lost (choir boy, Tara Reid) were the least interesting ones. This was easily the most mature of the bunch, even though it featured some of the raunchiest moments in the series. I was happy that they finally decided to give Stiffler a kick in the ass for being such a douche, and was happy with how they wrapped up all the stories. I don't see why they're making a new one, but I'm sure I'll end up seeing it.

 Re: American Wedding
Kinda bad.
Sure it was funny, but it feels unnecessary because they lose a lot of characters. I know it might be a dumb reason to be down on it but to act as if Oz didn't exist makes it fail. Not even a one line explanation? Makes it feel tacked on, like we're not good enough to get a main cast member back. It doesn't even matter that most of them are pretty bad actors.
Either than that, pacing was really bad since I kept checking the time, 30, 40, 50 minutes felt like forever and you kind of feel the characters don't really develop much for people getting married and then there's Kevin who sucks but fades into obscurity. Also, what is up with the color timing? I watched all three back to back to back and this has all the skin tones and many indoor scenes cooked up. Looked quite awful for a big movie release.
