 'The Office' Thread
Alrighty, so I think it's time this criminally underrated show received its own thread.
I wasn't a big fan of the first episode I saw last season (and I must admit, I've only seen one episode of the Brit version), but I watched it again a couple times after that and thought it was particularly awesome. And so far, this season has been fan-frikkin'-tastic.
Last night's "who would you do?" discussion was hilarious.
Too bad it's probably only me and, like, two other people (in the country) watching.
But discuss!

Dwight ranting on about what he take in the 5 books desert island question was gold. "I would cut out the middle of the book, and inside I would hide: Carbohydrate matches, neouratimal fluid..." "And if I get bored Harry Potter and the Sorc-No Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
Angela the uptight bitch is awesome too.

Excellent show. I hope it gets a full second season renewal.
The first episode was great. Need to catch up on the last three episodes, though.

I loved Jim's "we could just, yanno, watch bowling afterwards."

i think this show is hilarious, and i really want it so get a full 2nd season. all the characters are so great in different ways, and i really really want Jim and Pam to get together already. i know that they either wont cause the show will be cancelled or it will be dragged out for years, but i want them to get together now. Also, Pam's fiancee is an ass. i know that he is supposed to be, but he really is and its not even like he is better looking than Jim, he is actually kind of tubby.

Pam has Edward Scissorhands and The Princess Bride in her top five desert island films.
I want to marry her.

Just watched the second episode. Loved it! I especially liked the "He said what?!" from Pam at the end, after Michael said he guesses he can't take a bath with Pam... as much as he'd want to.

My God, I love this show. Just watched "Office Olympics" and "Fire". Such great episodes. I haven't picked up the first season yet, simply because it's only six episodes for $30, and that seems like such a waste. I so wish they would re-release the first and second seasons on DVD at the end of the year, but I assume that's very doubtful.

Tonight's episode was probably one of the worst I've seen in a while, it just wasn't all that funny. The show is better when its more subtile and just the characters being themselves, but funny themselves, rather than relying on the Halloween theme and costumes to provide the laughs. Dwight as the Sith lord was ok, I thought it could've been better. Just an average episode guys.

it was good, but not great. Was way too serious. Off night for it and MNIE.
Sucks ass that its not on next week. Who still watches The Biggest Loser? And why does it get a 90 minute finale.

I've found this season in general to be too serious and not funny enough. It's become too claustrophobic and depressing for me. But I'll watch it now and then in case it gets better.
Like everyone else, I love Pam but I'm not going to watch it every week just for her.

Hey, I still loved it. I've got to say, though... Pam and Jim's office ethics? A little questionable.
"Angela is like one of those people in the neighborhood on Halloween who gives out toothbrushes, or pennies... Or walnuts."
I really think this show has done an awesome of job of building characters - mainly Michael, Pam, and Jim - week after week. It's really hit its stride, I say.

Like DK, I really liked the episode. I love the show, but at the same time, this was exactly the kind of episode that would drive normal viewers away. It's a bit too early on in the show's life (which I hope lasts a while) to do such a serious episode. To be honest, that's probably why Scrubs never became a big hit.
Still though... it was nice seeing a different side of Michael again. It's nice that he's more than just some simpleton who says all these dumb things.

I officially declare The Office (writers included), Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, and John Krasinski worthy of Emmy nominations.
Maybe I'm getting a little redundant (I am), but tonight's episode was just awesome.
Ryan holding up the cell phone with Michael's messages (and Michael's procrastination). Hilarious, guys.
Hilarious.

Has anyone else noticed that they are playing down the whole boyfriend thing that Pam has? I haven't seen that guy this season yet, though I did miss one episode. I'm wondering if they are basically dropping that aspect.

No, he's appeared in "The Dundies," "Sexual Harassment" and "Fire." So he's still a big factor.

Not to take this all too seriously or anything but I had the same reaction to Pam/Jim relationship that I did to the equivalent one in the english version, in that it's cute but the girl basically seems to be leading the guy on when she has little real intentions towards him.
Anyway, funnier episode than usual this time. The guy who plays the assistant to the manager was in top form.

I looove it.

this show stays so consistent, it's amazing. It's better than My Name Is Eal, even though the ratings don't agree. I'd rank it as my 2nd fav comedy, behind Arrested Development.

I actually liked this episode a lot, too. It was nice to see someone interact with Michael, who was almost as childish as he was. Tim Meadows is great.
I still enjoy the Jim and Pam thing. Hopefully this show lives long enough so we see this thing develop for a really long time. Ross and Rachel, Niles and Daphne, Jim and Pam!

Oh I don't remember now. I think I was left hanging with how the Pam and Jim situation evolved at the very end.

tonights episode was rather blahish. Started off great with Jim popping Dwights rubber ball thing. Atleast the whole Michael/Jan thing is over. It was funny last week, but terrible this.
