 The 'Family Guy/American Dad' Thread
Considering all of the stickied threads we are likely to have, I figured we should combine the two threads for the two Seth MacFarlane shows, since most who watch one show, also watch the other. And since both are returning in just over two weeks for all-new episodes, I figured now is the best time to start this thread (don't worry, I'm not making any more threads about TV seasons, since I already have Prison Break, and will likely start the "24" thread in December for its January return).
Anyway, on September 11th, all-new episodes begin airing on FOX. I'm not sure whether to classify them as the fourth season of Family Guy and first season of American Dad, or the fifth and second seasons, respectively. I don't see any of the fan sites calling them Seasons 5 and 2, but it would make sense to call them that, considering this is the new season coming up. Then again, those episodes were likely previews for impatient fans. I'll keep it at 4.5 and 1.5, unless a unanimous decision is made.

More Infortation on the All-New Straight-to-DVD Film
I've found out the names of the three episodes that will be a part of this film, being released on September 27th, and here they are:
-Stewie B. Goode (Episode 4.05)
-Bango Was His Name Oh (Episode 4.06)
-Stu and Stewie's Excellent Adventure (Episode 4.07)
Fear not! These episodes WILL appear separately on DVD in the future, once the episodes air on FOX separately (which will presumably happen this season, however I cannot confirm that). It's most likely that these episodes will be released in Family Guy - Volume 4, once this season is finished (most likely this season will end in May 2006).

Joey!!!
Us fans appreciate the comprehensive info you put together for this thread.
I've seen ads calling the first new September episode as the Season Premiere. I also remember the first May episode being called "An all-new episode!" by Fox. So I guess the ones from the summer are part of the 4th season. Hence the extraordinarily high season order (didn't Fox order 30?) Or maybe Fox will hold off the rest again during the summer.

Hard to say, Christian. The Simpsons seasons usually consist of episodes that were produced for the previous season, along with episodes produced for the actual season that's airing. It's a little confusing, and I don't know why that happens, but either way. I figure this might as well be called Season 4.5 instead of Season 5 (because no one else is calling it the fifth season), or Season 4 (because the other thread is pretty full, so this will be a clean slate for the new shows).

okay I have a question about this one episode..
okay its where Peter could only play the piano when he's drunk..so Lois makes him drunk so that he could win the competition for her.
In that episode, Stewie goes, "WATCH ME WATCH ME, PETER PLAY THE SAD THEME SONG"...
anyone know the name of the song?

The theme from The Incredible hulk?
Then they have a cutaway shot of him hitchhiking?
Or maybe that's from another episode.

-FOX has opted not to air "The Perfect Castaway" as the season premiere. That episode will air one week later on Sunday, September 18th. In its place on September 11th is "Peter's Got Woods", the episode originally intended to air on September 18th.

Family Guy was so good. Those Flinstones jokes had me dying. The Marco Polo with Helen Keller was hilarious as well. ADad was good, but not great. It's an improving show.

I have to agree with bABA. American Dad was better and funnier than Family Guy again. Don't get me wrong, Family Guy was good, but again, I was looking forward to American Dad a lot more once Family Guy was over, and it ended up being better.

American Dad was MUCH funnier than Family Guy. And that's not easy for me to say. (I take great pleasure in saying The Simpsons was the funniest animated show of the night).

I'm the biggest mark for The Simpsons, but I didn't find their season premiere any good.

The Simpsons was okay, but after watching some old episodes, I was a little disappointed.
I wonder if I should just make this a thread for The Simpsons too. Do you guys watch all three shows? I don't think bABA watches Simpsons, but I might be wrong.
