The 'Lost' Thread (Season 1)
So the new Lost episode will be airing here on the left coast in about 45 minutes. For you east coaster's that already saw it, what did ya think?
Mod note: Please heartily discuss this show if you feel the need!

Great, now I'll have to put my move on hold. :o
What sort of satellite systems are avail in NZ?
Do you guys get 24?
BTW, Lost is shaping up to be one of the best new shows in the last 10 years. X-Files good. Buffy good. Just a very high level of quality.

Yeah, Lost is great. Last week's episode was kinda crappy (nothing happened), and i'm a little worried that once the secret of the island is revealed the show will go down hill, but it's loads better than anything else on network TV.
BTW - It's delayed by an hour because of the presidential debates. Argh!

Okay, so the episode tonight was pretty good. A lot better than last weeks. At least someting actually happened this time! I thought the revelation of the creepy old guy's previous paralysis was quite interesting. Combining this with the dead people sightings, and i'm thinking the island might have some sort of healing power. But, if that's the case, how come the cop died? Hmmm. I still like loyal's theory of the kid being able to do things with his mind.

Does it seem to you people that they are trying to spend every two episodes trying to explain each of the characters background? If they are, they will never be done airing each character's story before the season finale. I also wonder why that bald headed guy didn't tell the castaway why he encountered the beast in the jungle.

I think that there's clearly some misdirection going on.
Whatever Locke ran into yesterday, there's no way it's the same thing that killed the pilot. Whatever killed the pilot did so for no apparent reason, it wasn't threatened. And it didn't eat him, so it wasn't an attack for food. It was just real pissed off. Or maybe it was for something else.
Had it been the same "thing" as before, Locke would of been fertilizer.
So what did Locke see. Are there more than one kind of giant on the island, ie a gentle giant? It still killed the razorback so it wasn't all buttercups and rainbows.
I doubt the answer, when it's revealed, will satisfy everyone. I'm still in the camp of The Prisoner, I think it's all mindgames.

I think around 90% of what's on tv is complete and utter crap.
That said, I can say without a doubt in my mind that Lost is a near perfect tv show. Now whether or not it stays on this course of brilliance (it is, afterall, only hour #4) is anyone's guess.

Loyal,
You gotta stop talking so highly about it. I value your opinion and your starting to make me feel bad because I can't just jump in and watch it mid season.

:? If that's a joke, it's a bad one.
Anyway, this show is awesome. Not since 24 have I been THIS hooked on a show (excluding Buffy, which I got into solely on DVD in 2002). Took me three years, but I found my fix, and I hope it stays for a while. I LOVE Terry O'Quinn (Locke). The guy is a nearly perfect actor, with tons of talent. He was seen on almost every Chris Carter series (X-Files, Harsh Realm, Millennium), and also on JJ Abrams' other current series, Alias. Locke is my favorite character so far.

I'm assuming we'll find out about Jack...besides that, nothing new probably.
Wouldn't it be great if the unknown force of the jungle made itself known tonight.
Yeah, that'll happen.

*Great* episode.
I'm not sure I understood the whole thing with the coffin being empty, though.
Next week's preview looks exciting.

This was a much better episode than the first one I watched a week or two ago. I'll definitely tune in for more in coming weeks.

i wish these episodes were two hours long. i mean it has enough of a "miniseries feel" so that when the credits roll i always feel like there was more that could have been shown.
but then that could be the all-pervasive suspense getting to me...time for a new episode!
i thought this was a pretty good episode, although locke's comments about the island giving charlie his guitar were...well...i don't know... :?
i also wonder if they'll continue to be divided into these two camps, or if this is something that will practically be forgotten by the next episode...like the polar bear and the message were...for that matter will they even try to figure out what happened to adam and eve, or have they accepted that they were there and now they're dead...
sun speaking english was pretty exciting, i liked her story also...even if i read a little bit about it beforehand
i think the fact that this is the first time i've ever read spoilers for a tv show speaks volumes, heh
anyway, good episode overall...but gimme my fix!
