Okay, this probably has no relevance to this thread, but I might as well take a shot at it...

I want to see a personal perspective from actual college students, who actually applied to a college, rather then reading something from the net.

Im a Sophomore, so I have a LONGGGGGGGGGGG way to go, and plus, I havent taken SAT's yet, but I took PSATS, and I got an average score....

Currently, my GPA is 3.67.

Im involved in ASB, JROTC, Marching Band, President of the Executive Club, and part of the Honors Society....

My dream school is Berkeley.....

What are my chances of getting in if I maintain this?

PLEASE DONT CALL ME STUPID! ](*,)

DId you investigate what the average GPA and SAT scores are of the students who attend there?

If you are below the average the your chances are low, more and more students are applying to college, so schools are accepting less students then before.

Also, if your scores are lower then the average you can kiss most if not all scholarships goodbye, if you are looking for that. but need based aid is still their.

Recommendation letters can be gold when applying to college, if you know someone who went to berkley who would write a letter for you that will help. Practice for the SAT's,t ake some prep classes, keep getting good grades, be active, apply to Berkley and some other schools...and good luck.

Wow. Sounds interesting. I plan to go into pre-med or genetics. Or epidemiology. Or...well I'm not sure.

Anyway...isn't it somewhat boring?

Some aspects are. I don't particularly like studying the bueracracy. I'm more interested in political philosophy and political history.

My brother specialized in the political history of Middle East.

well i'm going through it right now.

you'r going to be studying your ass off for a long long time, not to mention sacrificing a lot of your social life.

if u can organize your time well, u can still enjoy your life,
but unless you'r very determined to become a successful doctor, it's not worth it.

Wow. Yeah, I don't expect I'll actually go to med-school. I'll probably end up doing a Master's in biology and going into epidemiology or genetics or something life that.

I don't know. Probably. But not too sure. I hate making decisions.

well it's easy. just think about what it is that u want to do with your life, and go from there.

either way, no matter what u end up doing, u'r going to have to work very hard if u want to become successful...
