And b, you do know that the movie's audience was 68% people under 25? That's way more fans of movie with the cast of "The O.C." then The Grudge.

Also, the fact that this movie increased on Saturday shows that it's 1) not having bad WOM, and 2) that it won't have terrible legs. I've been comparing this movie to The Forgotten for quite a while in terms of box office and how even with an unusual ending, people still liked it. I've seen it 3 times now and all 3 times, the theatre was packed and everyone looked like they enjoyed it.. At least I didn't hear any of these outlandish comments from others in the auditorium like some around here overexagerrate about when it comes to describing the movie and theatre experience when they see movies.. Still didnt make 40 million, will not gross more than 60 million...and the movie still sucked ass. Everyone here agrees as well. It was NOT SCARY, and it was almost laughable. Sorry...
The ONLY reason this movie didn't make 40 Million is because they released it on less screens preventing it from doing so.. As for quote "Everyone here"?? You all missed the mark plain and simple in your predictions to proving that the average, casual moviegoer doesn't listen to Internet Film Elitist Nerds and there negative reviews of this movie which looked more like a pissing contest to see who could pan it the worst and in the end?? You all lost and audience reaction had it that it was well embraced.. A 25 Million opening for a movie that cost 25 Million to make is pretty damn good and will guarantee a sequel plus a Cult Audience on DVD and more $$$$..

I agree...it made good money. It will be a moderate success, although IM not sure of the total costs for the film, but the reason it didnt make 40 million, is beacuse the bad a WOM.

WOM was good for the casual moviegoer who didn't surf movie websites or give a shit what the Internet Film Critic Wannabe's had to say about it, otherwise, it wouldn't of nearly beat Meet The Fockers for #1.. It wasn't that far off if I remember correctly in it's box office.. The Studio needed to open this on another 1000 screens instead of the 2400 it opened up at and it would've made 40 Million easily..

Sorry but no I'm not.. They could've opened this on alot more screens than it was on and it would've had no problem grossing higher.. Face it folks: It's clear the majority on this site hated the movie, but like it or not, it did deliver and made more than you all refused to give it credit for.. You suck and I don't..

And that makes me VERY happy. I feel sorry for the people who are paying their money to see this shitty film

Gee.. Funny, that's how I felt about The Grudge and The Ring and based on the reaction to the Ring 22, er II trailer, I'd say the audience I sat with felt the same way..... [-(

I disagree with lovemerox. White Noise is more than a moderate success. It's going to make around $60 million. And, the WOM is not bad. If it was, it wouldn't have increased on Saturday. AVP, The Village... they all drop on Saturday because of bad WOM or frontloadedness. White Noise increased.

Thank You.. Exactly, but Lovemerox is just playing difficult with this since I'm defending the hell out of this movie and for good reason.. You know your question about the ending I PM'd you on Zing?? Perhaps if everyone knew what I posted to you, they would think it made more sense like you did.. It would clear things up better.. Anyone confused about the ending can PM me and I'll explain it to you through PM so as not to ruin it for others who plan on seeing it and don't want to be spoiled..

Uh yeah.. They hated it cause they didn't embrace the subject matter and the story, and the plot and ending was far over your heads to grasp.. Hell, I had to PM Zing the ending cause he to was confused, but after explaining it to him, he's more clear on it now.. Gee Rox, would you like me to PM you and explain the ending to you?? Perhaps you would understand it better..

NO...BKB...honestly....I didnt like it. I was obsessed with the concept after I saw the trailer. I researched it and everything(Don't you recall me talking about EVP with you?>) I just really anticipated to much from the film. It was'nt scary and I just didnt like it.
Perhaps I should give it a second viewing...but IM not sure it would change anything

BKB, it seems you like the movie because of the subject matter, you're interested in it. Not many people have heard of EGP or whatever its called and only (I think) went to see it because it looked appealing as a horror movie. I havent seen it yet, but I can say from the trailer i saw, I'm going to give it a miss. Am i right in thinking this movie is about talking to the dead? and about some ghost causing havoc? If so I can understand some people thinking its crap.

No, I think this is the most amazing thing you've ever seen for a horror movie:
The Exorcist $691,054,200
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm
Not just number 1 of that year (1973) but of all time at that point.
