I doubt none of us ever will.

Another 50 years or so the film industry will change completely. It will most likely turn more and more to Netflix or Direct to your home type of deals. Movies will still make money, but in an entirely different way.

SeriousLy though, I don't see one fiLm grossing $1bn domesticaLLy ever even with the heLp of infLation. Titanic in 1997 made 600m and no fiLm has ever touched that for 10 years now even with the ticket price increasing by 40+%. By the Looks of that, I don't even think we'LL see a fiLm coming cLose to 600+m in 10 years especiaLLy with frontLoading being more common by that time.
