The "Heroes" Thread: Season 2
Well, it can never be too early to stat a new one. Feel free to discuss and post all things about Season 2 and what you expect/want to happen, which direction you want it to go etc.
Season premiere: September 24th
Some bits of news:
"Dania Ramirez, who played Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand and has a recurring role on "The Sopranos," has been added as a regular on the NBC's hit series "Heroes." The show returns for a second season in the fall.
Ramirez will play Maya, a new hero whose powers are being kept under wraps.
"Heroes" extends Ramirez's relationship with NBC. This past development season, she co-starred in the network's drama pilot "Fort Pit."
Maya is one of four to five new characters expected to be added to "Heroes" next season, but her character might be the only regular one. The other roles, most of which are said to have international flavor, include a sexy boyfriend for Claire (Hayden Panettiere), a 28-year-old black mother, a surrogate for Niki's (Ali Larter) son and an Irish mobster."

Other tidbits:
- The Invisible Man will likely return
- Nathan and Sylar will both be back
- The new big villain will appear early in Season 2
So...any thoughts and comments are welcome.

Thank god. I'm still annoyed by his abrupt exit. He was so awesome!

Most excellent, my only concern is if they're going to have him wear a hoodie or something.

Sylar wore a hood. We'll probably see his hand or foot.

Wow, this is early. But, probably not as early as my 24: Season 5 thread last year.
I hope they don't make the new characters permanent cast members. The show needs some recurring characters, though.

I've always thought Heroes has too many characters. This isn't Lost where the neglected roles can be made up for in their own episodes, a lot of the heroes I just don't care for.

I hope we never see Claire's fiancee from that five years later episode again. He was annoying and not that cute. I hope her new boyfriend is international like they said. Mexican, Spanish, something hawt.

I guess the studio hated the last 10 minutes just like every other asshole that watched it.

That sounds like a very useless power to me.

This asshole didn't have any problems with the last 10 minutes. And it was obvious for Sylar to be back. Not so much for Nathan though, but they wouldn't dump a hero that easily. There would be at least some eye-tearing scene where Peter and Nathan say goodbye to each other in space if it was really the end of Nathan.
I don't like Maya already. She has a dumb name. And I really wouldn't like a new permanent cast member. I think they have a strong mix of characters and some are pretty neglected. Some recuring characters on the other hand would be nice to spread "Heroes" mythology.
The new villain is probably the man Molly said she's afraid of because he's the only one who can see her when she thinks of him.

So, much like Lost this will probably lose at least ne big cast member each season...so who do you think will bite it in Season 2?
I'd go with DL or Niki...

I'd go with DL or Niki... I'd go with Sylar and Peter (assuming he isn't dead already) as well.

Sylar will probably die at the end of Season 3. The makers said they have a story ark planned out for Seasons 1-3 already and I'd say that Sylar will have some bigger and better stand-off with Peter at some point, probably a the end of Season 3.

I would predict a bigger and better Sylar/Peter showdown as well, but will they really stretch that out for two more years?

More new Heroes characters:
The LA Daily News reports that shooting starts next week on the second season of "Heroes" and that the show is casting for several possible recurring characters.
The include: a pretty and kind elementary school teacher; a hippie-ish high school chemistry teacher; a Kinko's store manager; a small-time Irish mobster; and a California high school girl who isn't especially athletic.

I won't mind if they roll the dice and close the book on a lot of the big characters.

Not that I watched it on its nights (I watched it in batches every few months)... but as of now, I have no interest in watching the second season.
I think the show is great and deserves an Emmy nomination but for some reason, as much as I tried, I couldn't get emotionall or in any way actively engaged by it. And the finale left me with a very sour taste.

Oh, he was in Election (he's that kid who gets all indignant about counting the votes before Matthew Broderick retools them). Interesting they cast someone rather average-looking for the role, that's nice to see. It's a little odd that he's like 10 years older than Hayden Panettiere, though (if he graduated from college in 2002, that would make him...my age).
