6 days from opening, and I no frickin' clue what this is opening to. It could either get crushed by the demand already met by SM3 and Shrek and get only $110 million. Or it could be the rising end to an amazing month and get $160 in just 3 days (Or $155 million, should BOM continue to retardedly not count 10PM screenings).

BOM is not going to count Pirates' Thursday towards the weekend. That's for certain. So, any chance of the opening weekend record is gone now, really.

Well, yeah, I guess that's true. BOM isn't going to count it, but the studio definitely will, as will SBD and other media sources (and most news sources pick SBD over BOM, I think).

I love how dastardly BOM has been about this whole thing. First, they make a poll asking users whether the Thursday sneaks should be counted (cleverly pretending to listen to our opinions), then, after a landslide vote for "Yes", go ahead and exclude the grosses anyways.

I hope Pirates will destroy Shrek. And get the OD, OW, Sat., Sun., Mon. record.

I wonder if BOM will count midnights and 8pms as separate. I mean, midnights for other films are counted towards Friday, but Pirates has both. So, could 8pms be for Thursday and midnights for Friday?

That's why I'm currently at a 70 mil+ OD with 8 pms. It's going to get like 20 mil from the 8 pms, if not more. People who will go to a film at midnight is a fairly small and nerdy section of the audience. But 8 pm... That's primetime. It'll be fun stuff.

BOM is right in not including 8pm shows in friday's gross because it isn't friday, it's thursday.

This is going to be very strange. So its 4-day gross will be Thursday through Sunday or Friday through Monday? Surely it will make more Friday through Monday than Thursday through Sunday, but which will they use for their charts?

Yeah, but then for the 5-day chart, it will be Thursday through Monday if the Thursday showings are bigger than Tuesday's gross. I'm starting to think Disney made a mistake with this as far as 4-day, 5-day, 6-day records and so on. By having just 4 hours of time for that Thursday, BOM will still count that as a full day against Pirates.

Eh, I'm pretty sure the same will apply, since Tuesday is going to a full day, while Thursday, even if it's larger, is still sneaks for a limited timeframe.

Something tells me they'll count Thursday as a full day, just like they did with Matrix Reloaded and Shrek 3. Kind of messed up when you think about it. I mean honestly, the 4-day, 5-day, etc. totals of DMC, SM3, and Sith were made in 4 or 5 full days, not in 3 or 4 days plus 4 hours.
