Post 2005 100m Dollar Films Prelim Selections
In 2005, how many 100m dollar films do you think we will round up? Will we break records ala 2003, or fail to live up to previous benchmakrs ala 2004?

Just like 2003 and 2004 before, list the films you think have the chances to hit 100m as we go through the year....

Locks:
Madagascar
The War of the Worlds
Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire
King Kong
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Batman Begins
Chronicles of Narnia
Star Wars: Episode III .

Very Good Chances
Chicken Little
Hitchhiker's Guide
Hitch
Robots
Best Picture Winner
The Longest Yard

Good Chance
The Ring 2
Constantine
Kingdom of Heaven
Sin City
Fantastic Four
Be Cool
The Legend of Zorro

Limited Chance
Cinderella Man
The Producers
Elizabeth Town
Elektra
Racing Stripes
Bewitched
Pinkpanther

Up in the Air - Will it Open?
Rush Hour 3

Wasn't Cars delayed until 2006?

Also, What about the Chronicles of Narnia, where does that go?

Yeah, Cars is delayed to May 2006, and yes, Narnia is a lock for 100M.

I would give The Ring 2 a lock for $100 million myself.

I think that the ring will do very well, but I am hesitant to call it a 100m lock. Feel free to make your own list, too, with your preferences.

King Kong isn't a lock for $100m - mark my words!

But on the other side: Robots should be a lock for at least $100m! :)

Rush Hour 3 isnt being released in 2005 and you are really underestimating its numbers by putting it up in the air after the last one made over 230 million dollars. Rarely any movies have dropped that much from their previous predeccessor unless you count Jaws and Exorcist. If anything should be up in the air it would be Fantastic Four since its up against WOW and its costuming looks rather cheesy

I put it up in the air - refering to whether it will be released in 05 or not. I am sure it will make 100m. ;)

Ring 2 only a good chance at $100 million? It's one of the most popular movies of the last 10 years.

It could be because there was problems in production. Directors quitting, the original director not returning, and delayed production. Those usually spell a bad sign for the quality of the movie

Thats a sign, too, of shorter legs I think. Sure, it might cook up a 40m dollar opening, but can it keep the legs to make it to 100m? Stranger things have happened...

Still, I will guarantee this movie opens to $45 million.

GUARANTEE!

You heard me.

I think it will open to $47 million, then drop 50% in its second weekend, but easily pass $100 million if not $150 million.
