So The Office became a dramedy when...

I'm still wondering where all the funny went this episode.

Aside from Dwight's: "Reject a woman and she'll never let it go. It's one of their defects. Also weaker arms"

I was bored through this most of this one.

The only explanation I can figure is they are misguidedly trying to imitate Arrested Development.

Well, considering how outrageously funny the first two were, it probably has to do the balance of the universe or something. If we can get two episodes of funny, and one episode of less-funny, it will still average out to the funniest show on tv.

Outside of Dwight and Jan's metting and the M&Ms scene, pretty mediocre episode. But I'll allow that once out of 5 brilliant episodes (Which is the way it's been since the Christmas episode).

This last episode was written by the actor who plays Toby.

I think the episode improves on repeated viewing. I was distracted through much of it (trying to explain which season of Saved by the Bell Karen was in) and I missed some really good lines. Totally missed Creed's winning line.

Funny thing is that he was on the writing staff before he played Toby, and The office was his first acting gig, yet I'd say his acting far outstrips his writing. He was so great and realistic last week doing the shy guy trying to get close thing. I know because, well. . .

And yes, Creed is somehow able to steal every episode despite almost always having just one line (The exception being Casino Night, for which he deserved a freaking Emmy).

Hm. To be honest, I didn't really like Thursday's episode.

Minimal laughs, and it felt off.

The ratings and the millions of viewers but just for the 18-34 demographic which is important to advertisers, not all viewers. The line at the top above grey's anatomy explains what each column means. rank/program name/rating/millions of viewers.

I was just pointing out that while The Office isn't doing that well the last couple of weeks it was doing ok in a key advertiser demo, so not all bad.

Paul Lieberstein (Toby) has written two episodes (well, now three) mainly centered on Dwight: "Health Care" and "Dwight's Speech". Those were great, but the latter required the audience to have patience and it relied heavily on Rainn Wilson's delivery of the "speech" that Jim found for him on the internet. I would say the same patience was required for this episode. Unfortunately, it didn't work quite as well, but it was decent enough.

His other episodes were "The Client" and "The Carpet".

This week's episode is written by BJ Novak (Ryan the Former Temp). He has penned "Diversity Day", "Sexual Harassment", "Fire", and "Boys and Girls". For the most part, he's written some hilarious episodes. "Fire", in particular, is one of my favorite Office episodes.

Yep, BJ and Mindy are the two best, for my taste.

Hey I have a question about Michael saying "Entourage" in that odd way in the cold opening before the credits. Was that some way of saying it that they use on the show Entourage? Was there some joke there that people who don't watch the show wouldn't get?

I was wondering that myself. I've seen every episode of Entourage, and I can safely say that the word has never come up on the show (and if it has, it never came up in that creepy voice). So... I don't know what they were going for there. Maybe Michael just really likes the word "entourage"? I don't know.

It's a word that lends itself to a goofy usage, so I think it was just Michael being Michael.

Preview clips of tonight's episode if anyone wants to see.
I am skipping it as the show is only 21 minutes long as it is.

I couldn't catch THursday episode until last night, and I don't know what you are all talking about. It was by far the best one of the season. It was funny, had some good charecter development, and IT HAD FUCKING CALL OF DUTY 2!!!!

"Want some M&Ms Dwight?"

:hahaha:

Plus, it had some good charecter development.

I liked it a lot more on a second viewing, that's a trend with me and this show. Black Adder was like that for me as well. I still didn't buy that Dwight would do that to Michael, but a lot funnier second time around. "I will kill you for real." Ed Helms is doing great.

Good episdoe today. When they were in the circle and the started naming movie deaths...hilarious.

And the ending was amazing.

"We went on a safari, and my cousin...Mufasa..."

lol

These past two episodes have been sub-par for me (more so the episode from two weeks ago than last week's), but still, funny stuff.
