First I'd worry about getting to Federer. Roddick had some problems with Tipsarevic, rank 101.

I know Roddick's practically a one trick pony, but even if he did have the game to beat Roger I'd still want him to lose because Roddick grates on my nerves.

It had some entertaining moments, but Dick and Pat seemed to be paying more attention to the lineswoman who either is, or looks like a librarian than to anything else. At some points in the match Roddick didn't seem to know what he was doing, he was very lucky to have won that third set breaker. He'll lose to Murray if he doesn't raise his game.

OH. That I agree. Which is why I want Roddick to win because I feel it would be good for tennis.

Tennis is a sport that thrives on a good rivarly. In fact, when there is a rivarly, tennis is one of the best sports out there.

I've never taken to Roddick as a player, I'd much rather see James Blake make it far in the tournament.

Ditto. I find Roddick to be far too arrogant for someone who's never really won much. I'd rather see someone else challenge Federer for supremacy (not Nadal, either, he can only play on one surface).

By the way, Federer just beat Henman, as I was typing this, on an ace.

I don't find Roddick arrogant I just don't think he's going to be a threat for world no 1 ever again. He's probably one of the fewer players I like seeing interviewed (Safin's good too). My problem with Roddick stems from the people at ESPN/NBC/CBS building him up to be Jesus. His game is solid, but nothing that was going to dominate tennis the way they made it seem. They show him 24/7, replay his matches the next day when they have some time and act all shocked and flabbergasted when he doesn't make a final or hasn't won a slam since 03. I like Roddick a lot more when I mute the television.

Them constantly showing Mandy Moore on tv when the two dated also did not help. But yes, excatly, I don;t actually dislike Roddick, I dislike the Roddick hype machine. Yes he has a big serve and forehand, but he game still has room for improvement and the annoited the as the man to follwo in Sampras' footsteps and it just did not pan out.

I liked Roddick better when Brad Gulbert was his coach, he actually so at leat the hype made some sense and Gilbert was not doing his craptacular commentating.

I have a strong disliek of Shrapove for similar reasons, she has won one major, yeah it was funt o watch, but she is not bloody Steffi Graf. I just wish ESPM/NBC/CBS could maybe talk about the number one players a bit more and not just the same flavors of the month. Roddick gets alot more coverage then Federer, which is just insane.

Isn't the current #1 on the women's side a choke artist?

I'd rather them talk about Sharapova.

Well yes, I don't really care about Mareusmo either but I;d rather discuss her choking then here about Shrapova legs on more time and on the men's side I care alot more about Federer then Roddick.

FINE! I can see you don't want to.

How in the hell did Mauresmo manage to win the Australian open? Was that a pity retire from Henin-Hardenne, who knew she would beat Mauresmo if she continued?

Mauresmo was playing pretty well in Australia so I think she would have won anyway, but to have your semifinal and your final opponent retire against you is pretty strange. Especially in a major. She ain't winning another one.

Surprise, surprise, ESPN is replaying the Roddick match now. Never mind showing the plethora of matches that weren't covered at all, let's see this one again...

Two Chinese girls are into the third round. Na is seeded No. 27, probably the first Chinese ever for a grand slam event. Hopefully one can move a little further this time, as passing the third round has been proven tough over the years.

There needs to be some rule about retiring in the final, because its just not a great way to award a major, and it still means Mauresmo has never proven she can actually win a major.

Just have it like that Pete Samprass match where he was throwing up all over the place.

(Is it wrong that I was really mad at his opponent for not being able to take advantage of Pete's vomit and beat him?)

HE SHOULD HAVE WON THAT MATCH! I'll be hatin on him if I WANT!

Maybe vomiting makes Pete's serve even better, Corretja wasn't exactly running around with tons of energy and completely unfatigued you know!

Nadal will not win Wimbledon. If he faces Federer, he will be crushed.

I'm sad that Safin choked again, he's always been one of my favorites. I bet he comes up with some gold comments in the next couple days, heh.

I hate Roddick, and I agree that he's just not skilled enough to even challenge Federer. He just smashes it down everyones throat, he doesn't have the brain power to play any way more talented and smoother. IMO, Hewitt and Blake are better challengers to steal the championship.

The first upset happened today as Patty Schnyder [8] lost to an unseeded French women 4-6 in the third. This opens up the draw for Hingis and she should have an easier road to the quarterfinals.

Good news for Hingis. She just needs to stay away from Clisters. I haven't seen the draw yet but sounds like she's not on the same bracket so that's good. If it were a Hingis v Clisters final it'd be Hingis no doubt. I really hope she does well and keeps up her amazing year.

Venus. Raymond. I don't know who to feel for the most. Raymond for blowing a 5-2 lead in the second or Venus for nearly caving in the second. Either way, I hope this jarred Venus's brain to be more focused as the tourney rolls along.

Henman. Glad he's out and I agree about him not having to tease the Brit's anymore. What a shame.

Federer. He will win no one can beat him here.

Who will be the runner up? Who's playing for second fiddle?

Hingis would meet up with Clijsters in the Semifinals if they get that far. I think Kim will make it there, but I think she will be playing her fellow Belgian and not the Swiss Miss.

Won't have to worry about Hingis losing to Clijsters, she just lost to Sugiyama 4-6 in the third.
