I started a thread at RT yesterday as a joke. It was me and another user in on it cause at RT everyone seems to think we are a couple cause we can joke around and we are relaxed around each other. little did I know people would actually believe it i mean they fucking fell for it!

For the same reason you trust giving your aussie friend a mailing address. Because people abuse the anonymity associated with the internet and its unfair to people that assume you're being genuine. A good rule of thumb is not to do or say anything you want just because you can get away with it on the internet. Just because it can be done does't mean it should. The internet allows for a bit of an extension of personality, perhaps saying something that would be a bit exaggerated in you nature, but out right fabrications are manipulative.

I guess its allright, and most of the internet does it, which is why I try to take everything at other than face value, but for someone who has said she's developed very close almost dating type relationships over the internet, I'm surprised to hear you would advocate such behavior.

Thats how I interpret it, not sure what the grim emoticons and questionmarks are from other members.
