Two bad serves by Federer in the tie-break. That should seal it for Nadal

There must be a lot of mind games stuff going through RF head with those couple of bad forehand shots > WTF is happening?

Point match, come RF.........still want a 5th set.

Finito. A bit disappointing match. There were a few good points, but overall I hoped for more out of this matchup

Federer is the most frustrating player to watch when he plays Nadal. I mean why does Roger put on his stupid hat when playing Nadal?

Oh well. Federer will win the French eventually. Barring any freaks of occurence, like a bad injury or if he pulls an Agassi for a couple of years.

He'll win the French if someone else beats Nadal at the rate Federer is going becuase whenever he plays Nadal he suddenly has the mental toughness of Amelie Mauresmo.

At least it isnt the mental toughness of Daniella Hantchucova. Even Mauresmo managed to win a grand slam.

I still consider that some sort of anomaly, I mean both her and Clisters managed to win, and Myskina has a slam as well, what the hell is wrong with the world?

Gah, the one time I was cheering for Federer, and he loses.

Well, Nadal uses an incredible topspin that makes life really hard for all his opponents on clay... but he also seems to get a little bit under Federer´s skin. He also beated him this year on hard (Dubai)

But before people start trashing Roger, some scary stats: Nadal has not lost one single match in RG. Two times he played the tournament, two victories. Even more so, if I remember correctly, no player has taken him to 5 sets in Paris. And he has won 60 games in a row on clay. He truly is the best on clay, no doubt about it. Federer is number two, I´d say.

I don't see how anyone can really trash someone who has won 3 of the last 4 grandslams and 7 in the last 3 seasons.

I love Roger, that's why I am so damn mad, I know he can beat Nadal, its mental. Nadal is aweso eon Clay, but Roger never brings his A game against Nadal, never. He had Nadal on a clay match this year and blew it, and today after the first set he all but disappeared except for a few points. You can't attack a serve from 20 feet behind the baseline. I mean, Roger doens;t play like he thinks he can beat Nadal, its maddening.

2 reasons why I am rooting for Federer, despite him being so dominant.

1. I want Pete Samprass to no longer be thought of by many to be the best ever, as if Federer does what I think he will do, win all 4 slams and shatter Samprass' overall slam record, no one will be able to deny Federer. Who, despite him being uninteresting at times, is still more charasmatic than Samprass.

2. One of the reasons I hated Samprass was that he beat my two favorite players, Ivanesovic and Agassi like... every time he faced them. With Federer's dominance, he really isnt beating anyone I find all that interesting

How is Roddick still the third seed? How long has it been since he's won a Grand Slam tournament?

His only GS came at the 2003 US Open.

He actually got bumped up 2 spots, he usually does well at Wimbledon so I think it's a deserved bump.

Projected Ladies Singles Draw R16

MAURESMO, Amelie FRA [1] vs SAFINA, Dinara RUS [14]
MYSKINA, Anastasia RUS [9] vs WILLIAMS, Venus USA [6]
SHARAPOVA, Maria RUS [4] vs PENNETTA, Flavia ITA [16]
SCHIAVONE, Francesca ITA [11] vs DEMENTIEVA, Elena RUS [7]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

SCHNYDER, Patty SUI [8] vs HINGIS, Martina SUI [12]
HANTUCHOVA, Daniela SVK [15] vs HENIN-HARDENNE, Justine BEL [3]
KUZNETSOVA, Svetlana RUS [5] vs VAIDISOVA, Nicole CZE [10]
GROENEFELD, Anna-Lena GER [13] vs CLIJSTERS, Kim BEL [2]

Looks like we're going to have a rematch of one of last years Semi's (I think it was SF) in the top half with Venus v Maria and another all Belgian SF looms in the bottom half unless Hingis can upset JHH.

Gentlemen's Singles Projected R16

FEDERER, Roger SUI [1] vs. BERDYCH, Tomas CZE [13]
ROBREDO, Tommy ESP [11] vs. ANCIC, Mario CRO [7]
NALBANDIAN, David ARG [4] vs. STEPANEK, Radek CZE [14]
JOHANSSON, Thomas SWE [12] vs. BLAKE, James USA [7]

------------------------------------------------------------------------

HEWITT, Lleyton AUS [6] vs. GONZALEZ, Fernando CHI [10]
GROSJEAN, Sebastien FRA [15] vs. RODDICK, Andy USA [3]
LJUBICIC, Ivan CRO [5] vs. DAVYDENKO, Nikolay RUS [9]
GAUDIO, Gaston ARG [16] vs. NADAL, Rafael ESP [2]

Federer's got a tough draw to get to this point. He has Gasquet in the first and possibly Henman in the second. Roger hasn't been playing that well lately. He had to save multiple match points against Rochus in Halle, so if he continues to play like that I can see him losing rather quickly, but I think he'll pick up his game for The Championships.

Roddick won't beat Federer, he's never even gotten close before. I think the closest he's came at Wimbledon was taking the first set in one of the finals, before Roger murdered him in the next 3. Nadal also isn't much away from Clay.

Federer has no real rival IMO. He's unstoppable.

OH. That I agree. Which is why I want Roddick to win because I feel it would be good for tennis.

Tennis is a sport that thrives on a good rivarly. In fact, when there is a rivarly, tennis is one of the best sports out there.

I've never taken to Roddick as a player, I'd much rather see James Blake make it far in the tournament.

Well at least Henman will lose in the 2nd round this year instead of teasing the British fans and getting all the way to the Semis to choke it away.
