That was very good acting in the last 10 minutes, especially in the parking lot.

Carell's real life wife, Nancy Walls, who played Carol, isn't a very good actress and I don't think the whole subplot with her worked, but Carell himself was in good form.
Actually, as to the main thing people will be talking about after this episode, I wish they had ended it after the phone call and before the last part. That was too Ross and Rachel Hollywood ending.
I'm surprised Libs isn't posting here, she's such a romance fan and this is the biggest one on TV this season.

I think the kiss was less Ross and Rachel, b/c did anyone ever for any moment inthe entire run of friends not now those two would end up together, it was the definition of anti-climatic. Whereas here, the kiss had elements of desperation in it from Jim, her wedding is getting closer and closer, if he doesn't kisss her now it ain't gonna happen. I just loved their conversation, when Jim said i just needed you to know my heart broke.
I agree on Carol, she was sort of there, and the actress playing Jan really stole that storyline, thanks to her you could cut the tension with a knife.
That was a great finale.

It was the first time ever that I can recall feeling sorry for Jan and liking her. And yeah great finale, other shows could take a lesson from it.
WTH was up with Creed though (the older man who liked to pocket chips).

Completely. Each time I rewatch, I cry when Jim wipes that tear.

Seriously, this rivals Lost for the Best Ensemble on TV right now. Everyone hits the right pitch, and Creed was so wonderfully ridiculous. When he said he had never owned a fridge before. . .
Oh how I hope and pray this gets nommed for Comedy.

I don't doubt that it will get nominated (what else would?) but we all know Will and Grace will win, because it was its final season! Of course, the same could be said for Arrested Development, but there's no way it will beat out Will and Grace.

Actually, ELR's win was the first time a comedy had won for its final season since Barney Miller, so W&G probably won't win.
As for being nominted, the Comedy catagory is actually pretty crowded this year:
Desperate Housewives
How I Met Your Mother
Will and Grace
Everybody Hates Chris (Sending out your entire season to voters worked for Huff last year)
Entourage
My Name is Earl
Scrubs
Arrested Development
Weeds
Monk
Curb Your Enthusiasm
And The Office.
I DO think it'll get in, but it has a major uphill clime to do so.

I am just thankful we can longer be totured by Will and Grace on Thursdays, its just so bloody horrible. There's still syndication, but at least I can avoid that.

But Huff is on Showtime. I highly doubt Chris will get nominated. How I Met Your Mother has turned itself into a show that would work much better as a 1 hour drama, so hopefully it won't get nominated. I don't watch Desperate Housewives, so I don't know if the rule change will make any difference, but there's a chance they won't be in the comedy category this year. (It could effect Entourage and Weeds, too, but I doubt it. I sort of doubt it will effect any of them.) Other than that, I will be satisfied if any of the rest get nominated (well, except Earl), but I definitely think The Office will be up there.

I'm not a big fan of Creed's character. More so in this episode than any before. I think a far better and much underappreciated character on the show is the HR guy. The actor plays him pitch perfect.
As for the episode itself, a strong end to a great series. I'm a little disappointed they went for the romance cliffhanger so soon. I quite liked that they were treating it as a slow-boil romantic sub-plot with no hint of a resolution on the horizon. I guess they had to do something sooner or later. I'd just rather it be later.

I felt the same way at first but the British version wrapped up the romantic angle in what was it, 12 episodes total? So this one taking 30 to have some sort of thing happen wasn't really all that fast.

I don't think Libs watches The Office, but I think we can snag her before next season.
And yeah, I liked Jan and her little predicament. (She was also good in the Gilmore Girls finale on Tuesday, too, actually.)

It broke my heart, too, to see Pam not on the phone with a friend when Jim walked in but with her mom. Reminded me of something my sister would do.

He's right, I don't (and never have) watched it.
I may start, though.

You have to, Libs. Best comedy on television right now.
I thought the finale was great. Lots of comedy, lots of plot developments. I thought the episode should have ended with Pam's "I think I am..." which I took as her response to her mom likely saying "Are you in love with him?". It's obvious she is. But, the more I think about it, I think the kiss was a nice cliffhanger ending. If not now, when? Besides, I don't think it's going to go smoothly from here on out.
Going to be fun to see where the show goes in Season 3. It's getting better. Which is hard to believe!

Heh, you quoted me before I edited the response. I do think it should have ended there, but I like I said in my edited post, I thought the ending was still pretty nice.

Yep ditto. It was fine how they had it but more in keeping with the realistic tone of the show to have cut it off where we said. Not a big deal all in all and judging by the reaction of many of the fans the way they did it went down well. It's just to me the "I think I am" part was in a way sweeter, since it was when he wasn't around and she was admitting it for the first time.

Yeah, I agree. I was waiting to hear that kind of a response from her.
I would like to know what Jan sees in Michael, though. Must be something.

That's RIGHT you'll start!
And the romance to which Archie was referring is indeed one of the funniest, most realistic ones on TV.

Over the next two weeks, anyone interested in getting a really good taste of The Office (Libs!) should check out the show on May 25th and June 1st. On the 25th, the show will be airing "Halloween" at 8:30 and "Sexual Harassment" at 9:30pm. On the 1st of June, there will be a two-hour marathon of episodes, which includes "Fire", "The Client", "Performance Review" and "Email Surveillance". This marathon airs from 8-10pm.
Libs and anyone else who wants to start watching the show should watch these episodes. Six episodes in two weeks. Not bad! These are some solid episodes, especially "Fire".

Another sign of this show's rising profile: "One of the best TV moments of the year. And "just once" may go down as the best TV line ever." http://www.tvguide.com/News/Ausiello/AskAusiello/
I definitely agree with the first half of his sentence and it's just cool to see the show get mentioned in a positive way like that.
