Post Matrix Trilogy = Blade Trilogy
The Blade Trilogy is looking to be perfoming like the Matrix Trilogy. The first movie does its business. The second movie does better. The third movie does worse than the first two. Do you guys agree?

Yup, it looks to be that way. I wonder what New Line was actually thinking when they moved Blade: Trinity up against Ocean's Twelve.

Well, it looks like it.

However, the difference is, not so many people hated Blade II as they did hate The Matrix Reloaded in comparison to the first...so that's surprising.

Also, expect Underworld 2 to be moved from this date next year ;)

Underworld 2 is going to be moving for sure. I remember Blade: Trinity claiming the date first as December 10. Then Ocean's Twelve put its release date as December 10. New Line wanted to keep that date and hoped Ocean's Twelve would move. It didn't so it moved to December 8.

It is not the release date, since OC12 is not getting great reviews either. Blade Trinity is not very good and is an ill conceived comedy.

Ocean's Twelve is fresh at Rotten Tomatoes.

It is, but mostly with mild praise. There are many problems with Blade Trinity. To start with, it lacks a good villain  Ryan Reynolds is funny, but most people did not expect BT to be mostly a comedy. Action scenes are not good enough to keep one's attention.

If BT were half as good as the first one it would have done well.

As I said they should of kept its original target date back in august against AvP, it would of done well against it now that we know back then how big of a crap AvP was. Or at least they should of opened the movie in October. It looked like O12 had a big affect on movies this week taking even a big chunk out of National Treasure. Oh well

That's exactly what I was thinking yesterday. The numbers for Blade: Trinity remind me of The Matrix Revolutions in so many ways.

Matrix Reloaded was not largely hated! It got mostly great reviews (75% at rotten tomatoes), and even fans generally liked it, and over 70% of 51,000 people at IMDB.com rate it a 7 or higher (about 20% give it a 10). That's hardly a movie that was universally hated by most. Perhaps it was disappointing in comparison to the original, but definitely not hated.

I think Underworld 2 will do better than Blade 3, but you're probably right they will movie it. I know a lot of people that'll see that just for Kate Beckinsale alone. Whereas Wesley Snipes isn't quite as sexy.

I agree with Roidrage, this should have opened in August - probably a week after AVP or in a non peak time - October or February/March 05.

Sure...

Simply because the second improve and this one I think will have a bad run even in December where movies usually have good runs. I think that this will decrease from the second and possibly from the first.
