Post HP4: Concerning about its schedule
I was wondering if it would be better to pull HP4 two days from Friday into 11/16/05 because:

1) I think most people at any age can watch it earlier and/or avoid overloaded crowds, despite that kids will be at school
2) This will improve the box office
3) Probably it'll avoid too much competition on Fridays

keep it on friday i say, why move it? It still will be rather frontloaded, if opening on wednesday it'll have a huge opening day and drop the next day, and if its on friday see HP3(to a lesser extent)

Since most people like record opening weekends, I recommend staying with the Friday release.

I know, but why should I care about Wed2Thur drops? It happens every time.

Why do the majority like records to be broken?

It'd be like Shrek 2 if WB pulls back soon before its release date. If it happens long before that, it'd be like SM2 meeting Matrix 3

Honestly, what company doesn't want to break records? It's quite an achievement, so that's why it's better to stick with the 3-day weekend. Harry Potter only made more money in the opening weekend than the first two because it was extremely frontloaded and it was the summer. In the winter, the fourth Harry Potter movie will make about $80-85 million opening weekend, showing the decline of interest for the Harry Potter movies.

To those that only wanted to leave the release date as it is: What's wrong with pulling its schedule to Wednesday?

Opening weekend wise, it won't decline much. Total is a different story.

no doubt. if they keep on doing 200 million, there will be no end in sight ;) Easily, when all is said in done, it will be one of the most successful franchises.

I think HP4 will do significantly better then HP3. I expect it to be the second Harry Potter film to cross $300 million, and fall just shy of the original's gross.

I think it will also, but I'm reluctant based of HP3's gross. Of course, the summer hurt it, and films like Shrek 2 and Spider-Man did also. It should do better than he 2nd and 3rd.

I remember many saying that HP3 would be the biggest grossing HP film because its the best of the books. Then the reviews started coming out and it had great reviews and it reafermed peoples beliefs that it was going to do better than HP1 and 2,Yet it did less than part 2.This is a series in decline and HP4 will do even less than part 3.

HP4 will open to over 100 million on the 3 day.

It will finish around 290-330.

This is if it gets RT scores somewhere between the origionals and azkaban.
