Post "The Apprentice" Thread (Season 5)
So anyone catch the new episode tonight? Seems to me like the same old, same old. I'm really starting to get tired of the show, but I just can't seem to quit!

hehe...I thought I was the only person here who still watches this train-wreck.

Aside from the ridiculous opening, I actually thought it was pretty good. This looks to be the most intimidating and vicious group so far, so I'll probably keep watching for a while.

I still love The Apprentice, it's certainly not the best of the mega reality shows (though I'd rank it above Idol) and it seems to always have the most forgettable cast, but it's still a lot of fun. and I think Trump's entire persona is just hilarious.

That being said, it was a pretty good opener. The first half or so up until the boardroom was standard hohum Apprentice fare but that final boardroom was intense and wildly entertaining. Seems like a decent cast on the men's side but a few too many blonde robots with the females (what is it with this show and casting a jillion rail-thin blonde chicks?). Hopefully it's as good as last season, though I don't think having Trump's kids fill in for George & Carolyn is a good idea. All things considered, so far so good. And it would take a lot for this season to suck more than 2 & 3.

I knew as soon as the said Tarek was from Mensa that he was going to fail, the played it up to much. It just screamed Mensa boy is goign to fail.

Summer was terrible in the boardroom, she had no answer for what she did, and if she had just shut up she might have stayed. Honestly I left the episide not liking her or Tarek much. The Russian looks funny, the other guy from the other team they showed in next week's previews seems odd. Next week's episode looks good.

Good fuckin grief! What happened to behaving professionally in the world of business? Talking to people like adults? Behaving in a proactive manner??? If The Apprentice was art mimicking real life, I would move to China!!

btw, I wasn't refering to Brent.

I love Lenny, he fun to watch.

Ivanke surprised me after those irritating ads, I liked her. Bill had an prgianl thought without checking with Trump toensure its ok, maybe he was trying to impress Ivanka.

Brent, Tarek, and the other dude who got sent back to the boardroom are like sitting ducks, Trump not impressed, I;d be surprised if they last long.

I agree Cotton, the people on the Apprentice rarely act like Businesspeople, let us not forgot the seasont he women dressed like hald naked teenpoppers. The attack Brent was like watching the Stcay eight ball incidence, its like c'mon people.

Why can't I stop watch this show! It's so horrible, yet I can't stop!

Anyways, this was completly ridiculous. Yes, Brent is a very weird and not so bright fellow, but do we really need to crucify him? At least let him say his idea, say "No, I don't think that will work." and then he will shut up! Don't try and cut him off time after time after time. And Stacy doesn't seem to get that trying to talk to someone in a confined space does not equal threatning someone. I'm glad she was fired.

And I heart Lenny as well.

The moral of todays episode was "If you mess with Lenny, you're going down."

Theresa was completely inept and I'm glad she was fired. They did a horrible job. Except for Lenny. Seriously, he is fast becoming my favorite Apprentice constestant ever and is the only thing keeping this season alive. I literally laughed out loud when he said "I wish her brain was as big as her boobs." and when he tried to say Horse drawn carriage.

When will these people learn that using horse-drawn carriages for any task is the worst possible idea you can come up with? Trump hated it last season, and he hated it again this season. I'm glad Theresa is gone, if only because her cartoonish boobs distracted me entirely whenever they made an appearance on screen. Things like "They just couldn't be that big can they? It must be the lighting??" would run through my head each time. Lenny is really the only reason to watch the show right now, the "Brent is a big fat weirdo!" stuff seems far too contrived.

Lenny is so entertaining, he won;t win, but he is making it so fun to watch.

When will the contestants learn.

1. Always bring people in charge of tasks that fial intot he boardroom, i.e the comedian and the models. If Thereas had brought in Charmain, she'd still be there.

2. Theme, have a cheesy theme, Nature Redefined was not actually rocket science, but that team worked it.

3. Learn from Lenny, yes he is abrasive to hsi teammates, but he is very polite to Trump, he do esnot raise his voice or swear (as we saw Bryce do). Lenny knows what to do in the boardroom, defend yourself, be honest and be respectful.

Did these contestants watch the other seasons?

I think Lenny is to strong of a personality to win, and damn did Bill have some balls this week, its nice to seem him haivng thoughts, sometimes he like a Trump robot.

I adore Lenny even more, he's so funny, and thse people need someone to kick them in the ass.

Well, there's no more reason to watch the show anymore. With Brent gone it's now going to be watching a bunch of arrogtant rich pricks with problems. And the weird thing is Brent didn't deserve to leave this week. He was given nothing to do and was just the scapegoat.

If NBC thought the ratings were in the toilet on the first show, I can't wait to see how low they're gonna be next week.

Next year I think they should just load the teams up with a bunch of psycho's. Or maybe "The Apprentice Rejects". Get Sam, Omarosa, Brent, etc. back and let them have a second chance. That's the only way the ratings will go up. It's probably too late for the show now anyways.

I didn't like Brent but I was disappointed that he was fired. He was antagonistic to be sure, but he was never really given a chance to show whether or not he could perform. I don't think he would have lasted much longer but his firing would have been much more satisfying if we saw him finally get egg in his face after all his bragging. Instead he looked like a scapegoat, and Trump fell in line with the whole witch-hunt, which he usually does at least once a season. I would have liked to have seen Trump fire Andrea/Tammy and then toss Brent over to Gold Rush next episode to see if they could manage him properly. He did something similar with Clay last season.

Brent got himself fired by calling attention to himself with his nasty comment about Tammy in the boardroom. When Trump asked him about Tammy he should have responded with a lukewarm comment which would have conveyed how he felt about her leadership only in a diplomatic manner. Instead he got very nasty and defensive drawing attention to himself and away from Tammy, Andrea and Sean the people most responsible for the team's loss.If Brent had been smart he'd have held his tongue and flown under the radar in the boardroom. Then Trump would have been faced with firing Tammy, Andrea or Sean since Brent had no real responsibility on this task. Instead Brent made things easy for Trump by giving Trump a "trumped up" reason to fire him.

I agree. Before the boardroom I was begining to question whether or not Brent was such a negative influence because he was treated poorly or because that's just how he is. If he had kept his mouth shut, he could have easily convinced Trump that he was painted into a corner and that his team members had no right to accuse him of anything.

Exactly, Brent could have appealed from Trump to let me him try the otehr team. Brent's problem wqas his people skills, he may be a very smart guy but Brent's commetns in the Boardroom, to the other contestnats, etc were just virual.

I don't think Trump would have fired Andrea though, he likes her, I think the english dudde woudl have bit the dust, what the hell kind of presentation was that, a five year old could of done better and it was utterly pointless.

This was the perfect opportunity for Trump to fire two people (there aren't that many weeks left in the TV season!). Tarek gave him that opportunity this week, and it's not like he had much of track record to fall back on. Oh well, it's not like lying awake at night worrying how they're going to cram 10 or 11 more firings in a 7 week schedule...

I'm also starting to get a little irritated by Andrea's cattiness. Last week she was snooting it up with sorority gal-pal Tammy, this week she was looking down her nose at Roxanne and almost trying to sabotoge her (what does she have against black-and-white footage anyway?). The Apprentice has had far too many dislikable women in too few seasons; it's time to book Andrea a one-way trip out of Manhattan...soon!

Andrea is clearly this season's bitch, I mean her comments to Roxanne were just uncalled for. It wa slike, how dare you suggest someone is better then me.

Tarek is clearly not going to get the job, why is Trump still keeping him?

I loved hom it was Lenny fault the idea didn;t work, I also hought it was a bad idea, but haven't we all thrown out bad ideas, its the project managers job to say no, bad idea. And Lenny said we need a voice over. Clearly lenny abrasive nature means he won't get the job, but he seems to be the only person who tell someone "that sucks." He made a goo dpoint, you show this commercial once, not 100 times, so they have to get the premise from the beginning, and their commercial was not clear at all.

The other group had such a basic idea, I mean show other curise as boring, itw as about safe and dull as you can get, so I give the other credit for trying, but that was some piss poor execution.

Lenny is there to be the common sense "everyman" in a room full of over-educated rocket scientists that cant tie their shoes. His days are numbered.

Bryce = grave digger.

And I don't think it's that unreasonable to fire Lee for taking a religious day off. Getting up and leaving in the midst of a JOB INTERVIEW is something you don't do, especially when you know your presence in the game is largely dependent on the whim of the moment.

But yeah, at the risk of being called an intolerant biggot, I can understand why Trump didn't fire him.
