Post Why Does Narnia Keep Getting Unstickied?
Even though Narnia continues to lead the box office over the holiday season and has only been out for three weeks, it keeps getting unstickied in the "Everyone's A Critic" forum. What's the rush? Memoirs of a Geisha has been out just as long, has done a tenth of the business, and yet it hasn't even been unstickied once - Narnia has been demoted twice already. Is there something political going on behind the scenes?

sorry but I didn't bother to clean up the BO #'s as they aren't being shown for more than their movie names / BO Rank.

Wow...

You're seriously complaining about an unsticky in the Everyone's a Critic forum?

It's been stickied for a month, though. And, it's not #1 as of Sunday.

Also? If we decided what would be stickied by box-office grosses, a film that's making less than a million but has 10 pages of conversation would be unstickied, although there's still tons of discussion.

Narnia has died down, and there's too many stickies as it is. A lot of the other one will be taken down this week.

Ok, fair enough, I just wanted to show the BO #'s to balance out the equation.

Just seems an odd choice. Out of the twelve films that were stickied, it had to be the one film taken down, despite having more posts than 9 of the remaining ones, plus the aforementioned box office domination...

In the past 7 days, these threads had these many replies...:

The Producers - 15
Munich - 24
Fun with Dick and Jane - 9
Wolf Creek - 3 (which was made yesterday)
The Matador - 1 (which was made yesterday)
Brokeback Mountain - 7
Match Point - 1 (which was made yesterday)
Rumor Has It - 14
King Kong - 20
The Ringer - 5
Memoirs of a Geisha - 7

...and...

The Chronicles of Narnia - 4 (5 including your complaint in the thread)

The Producers, Munich, The Matador, Match Point, and Brokeback Mountain haven't even expanded yet. They will in the upcoming weeks, so they will remain stickied for a little while, most likely. I already took down Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (which had one reply), and Fun with Dick and Jane, The Ringer, Wolf Creek, and maybe others will follow this week.

But, The Chronicles of Narnia has been out for almost one month, only recieved 4 real replies in the past week, and most discussion has finished. If there was still discussion, I'm sure people wouldn't mind travelling through one page of threads.

Do you think you can handle the truth?

This was a giant conspiracy. The unsticky had been planned out for weeks.

Personally, I would remove all mention of Narnia from the site.

But who am I.

I dont see the big deal....

....

....

..........

seriously, most of the stickied stuff has only been out a week or two tops, or else is not out in wide release yet.

under normal, non-holiday circumstances, threads were never stickied for more than 2 weeks, that i recall.

plus, yknow...

its a thread.

if people are still replying and discussing the film, it;'ll stay on the first page....

or use one of the other 6 tools to find it real quick (regular forum search, special "search movie" search, this, ctrl f, your eyes)

also, the less stickies, the better. i say down with em period. (See above parenthetical comment....stickies in that forum = unnecessary.)

I kinda agree.

I don't like a million stickies. It's just really lazy, especially when you have tools to find your threads, and for new films, it's more likely to be on the first page or so anyways. I don't mind the stickies on the first weekend, but after that? Nah. This thread archive, in my opinion, is quite great. It automatically updates, it's easy to find threads, it's nicely organized.

We should keep the stickies for the first wide weekend of release, and after that, drop 'em.

IMO, of course.
