I dont know about loading, I cant see a difference but I HATE the blue background..

Trying to navigate through this, it feels like my eyes are on acid.

Will this be an optional feature?

It's the same problem with the main site front page that I pointed out where it was all too narrow. Though now the problem has migrated to the forums as well.

When the standard screen size changes from 800x600 to 1024x768 then things can change.

Hans you likely wont notice the change at all because your resolution is so low.

I run 1600x1200 and the change is BIG.

Regardless of all your comments, the change won't kill you. Please look at things from my point of view.

You guys don't give two shits about the main site, which is fine, thats your decision and it's fine with me.

Me on the other hand, I pay for this server. Other people are also investing money into the site *ahem Loyal*, and others are investing great ammounts of time into it. You don't have to care about it, you can continue to exist in the free enviorment we provide for you, thats totally fine, but I do care.

My problem was this: the forum and the main site were two totally seperat entities. Look at the main site and you think "Hey this is site A". Look at the forum and you thing "Hey this is site B". The two looked distinct and seperate from one another. This is not something that I want to continue. The main site is now much more important to me than the forums and I invest countless hours into it each week.

The forums are now in a fixed table, the width is locked at 770 just like countless other forums ... joblo comes to mind.

Who said anything about hating the site?

I think the frontsite works, but the forum still sucks all cramped like this and with blue stripes on each side of the screen.

And of course we appreciate the time and money put into the site. So many people have mentioned this many times. It doesn't mean we're not allowed to express ourselves when it comes to forum changes.

I have to say, the actual forums now are only a few inches wide. I think its a good idea to make a smooth transition, like you mention, but maybe just an inch or so of blue on each side. I've got blue borders that are bigger than the actual forum interface right now (if thats what it called). It doesn't quite look right, like almost accidnetal. I'd say skinnier blue borders would work a little bit better.

I think everyone likes the idea of converging both the main site and the forums together. The logo ontop looks very nice, but now it feels like we're in a Fullscreen movie, and we know how most of us feel about watching Fullscreen movies.

That is because of the resolution you run.

If you run 800x600 you won't even see the blue background.

If you run 1024x768 you will only see a sliver of background.

If you run a higher resolution (like me and you) you get alot more blue space. Sorry, thats the breaks of a fixed table forum.
