not sure why double accounts would ever be allowed?

if any agreement is struck where a double account is OK for any reason then in both users accounts there should be a statement saying that user 1's name = user 2's name.

I would love to hear any good reason why a user account should be allowed to be held secert.

I think we should react to the message, not the poster, so feel that double accounts should be allowed, secret or not. Prefer that it would be poster's choice.

I'm prolly on that 'side' as don't read polls, nor vote in them...and as for different voting, like KJ awards, well...some tried, and got busted there.

Not accusing you here, Nebs, but I thought I'd tell a funny story that happened at BOM. The subject of double accounts came up, and the thread had several people saying that people were whining and how they shouldn't care, and it turned out that they all had double accounts.

for me, I don't care about polls and the other above stuff.

etc so there are no good reasons for a double account.

Goldie, we have mods here. They have a job that controls behaviour like that. No different than when it's done with original name.

4. Duplicate Accounts: 1 user will be entitled to no more than one account at any given time. Banned users must make a request to the administrators for posting privileges. Banning of posters on this site will occur in the most extreme cases so if you were banned, there is very good reason why the community does not want you back on the forums. There are certain cases when a double account is created by mistake. Moderators and administrators will let this pass so long as only 1 account is used and the member had a legitimate reason for making that mistake.

I have no intention to change the rules here. Zach did not break any, and thus, this matter should not have even been brought up.

Maverikk, like bABA said, the only reason you started this thread was because you had a problem with Zach. Personal problems should be resolved personally; there is no reason to involve the whole forum community in this.

Goldie, it's up to the user of the forum whether to reveal their name, age, marital status, etc. to other members. We, as administrators, are not out on a witchunt to reveal who each of our users are. All we ask for is that you use only one account, and if there are special circumstances, we will try to be as understanding as possible. If the user wants to remain anonymous, then so be it.

When I first started posting here I made a username Halden, thinking I'd switch from archie gates. Since of course archie gates blows as a user name. But then I had this image of spending 6 months repeating to people who I had been at BOM so I dropped the idea.

Please remove/delete the Halden account. I think I posted on it like once or so.

Well, it hasn't really been a problem. If it's an accidental account, like with Archie, then he's not really posting from it anyway. If it's on purpose, like with zach, then we do lock the other account.

Krem, I actually started this thread for three reasons.

1. I think everybody does have the right to know who they are dealing with.

2. bABA didn't want the conversation to be in the predictions thread.

3. I was pissed at zach and wanted him to be conscious of making negative comments that lead to fights that led to this change.

With that said, I never thought any action should have been taken against him, not anything like that. I've always had an issue with double accounts, but I'm satisfied with the explanation that this isn't the same as that, but I had no way of knowing the old account was even disabled when I started this thread.

3. And, like I said, whatever personal problem you may have with zach, that should've stayed between you and him.

Also, I did let you know that we were aware of who lennier was beforehand and we had an agreement to place. Zach asked me earlier not to reveal who he was, and I agreed to that. So, if I did not tell you who he was it's because I had good reason.

And, to be honest with you, I think Zach deserves an apology. But that's between you two.
