It’s that time again! EX-MOD T and (now SUPER) MOD Z will be hosting the 3rd Semi-Annual WoKJ Poster Awards. There’s going to be 20 categories for you wonderfully intelligent and respectable bunch to vote on. We’ve gotten rid of a few things. We’ll explain the reasons below. First, the categories:

- Best Poster (BJ)
- Best Film Reviewer
- Best Writer of Posts (yoshue)
- Best Box-Office Predictor
- Biggest Movie Buff
- Biggest Media Buff (Mr. X)
- Best Debater
- Best Conversationalist
- Best Newcomer (Impact)
- Poster You'd Most Like to Meet In Real Life (Eagle)
- Poster with Best Forum Appearance (screen name, avatar, signature *)
- Funniest Poster
- Nicest Poster
- Smartest Poster
- Best Looking Poster
- Most Helpful Poster
- Most Missed Poster
- Best Overlooked Poster (Dr. Lecter)
- Best Thread
- Most Memorable Event (Amos)

- Honorary Award (given by Krem)
- Special Honorary Award/David Hassellhoff Award (given by Lecter, torrino, and Zingaling)

Okay, so what’s new? Well, there’s no more Best Thread Creator, Biggest Franchise Fanboy, Best Avatar, Best Signature, Best Screen Name, Most Credible Poster, Most Entertaining Poster, Most Loveable Poster, Best Moderator, and Deserted Island Award. These shows are very, very lengthy, and unfortunately the only way to shorten them is to rid of some categories. T and Z feel that some of these categories (Credible Poster, Entertaining Poster, etc) are covered in some of the other categories, and others can be combined in to one (* Poster with Best Forum Appearance, specifically, combines the old Avatar, Signature, and Screen Name categories). Finally, the omission of Best Moderator has nothing to do with torrino’s anger with Eagle and bABA. More so, it has to do with the fact that there’s only about five possible choices (so it’s not much of a reward, anyways), and that we recognize that being able to close threads has nothing to do with one’s ability to assist, direct, and moderate others. We have created a Most Helpful Poster category to replace it. Everyone is eligible for this award.

Just like in past poster award ceremonies, there will be a nomination process. Rules:
1. Please fill out the ballot with five nominees for each category.
2. You are not allowed to vote for either torrino or Zingaling. Additionally, you are not allowed to vote for yourself. If you are nominated for anything when the nominations are revealed, you will be able to vote for yourself. We just ask that you nominate others for the process, so that in smaller categories where a majority is not present, we can make better conclusions.
3. You cannot vote for any other poster more than seven times in your ballot.
4. You must submit your ballot to BallotPM (torrino and Zingaling's shared account) by December 5th, 2005. We encourage you to use your Thanksgiving break, if you can, to finish the ballot, and to not wait until the last minute.
5. Submitting your ballot is final, and we will not allow you to change anything. We want to get the nominations out by (we hope) the 8th, in order to have the event before Christmas.

So, tentative schedule:
December 5th – Nominations Due
December 8th – Nomination Ceremony
Late December Before Xmas/Early January – The Poster Awards (depends on the host!)

Extra Notes:
- We need speech writers, of course. Please PM torrino or Zingaling if interested. The ones with parenthesis next to them are taken.
- We’re also hosting the Movie Awards. More information later, but we will consider the consensus about last year’s…(basically, nominations will be done before the Academy releases theirs).
- At this point, we are still discussing some things, so deadlines and other things might change. We will update you.

Now that category is gone i guess ill never get my dues for being creative and fabulous.

I don't remember how it worked in the past shows, but we do have a limit of seven votes per poster. I think it'll eliminate a lot of the so-called "popular" posters from winning all the awards, but if you really want to see a variety of results... vote! All of you lazy bums.

I think the limit was 10 the last time, but 7 sounds good!

There were more categories last time, too. If I adjusted it, it would've been eight, but seven's my lucky number so I took off one anyways.

You might want to consider some sort of minimal eligibility rule for voting. Like have to have registered by July of this year, and maybe over 100 posts. Or stricter or looser as you see fit, but it just seems odd sometimes when utter newbies jump in, not really knowing the personalities involved.

I won like.. two awards at the last one! Best Newcomer and.. something else, I think! My sexy baby daddy (Had I not aborted it, of course..) Loyal took home a ton.

Oh damn I just realized something. We should have had you name the baby during that practical joke.
