I think we should wear the same thing! That way we can take turns romancing the lady-folk and they would know none-the-better!!

Oh and about what the ladies would say to you........simple.......
"......help me make the music of the night"
Or....
"...you are the song that makes my heart take flight"
Which one would you prefer.....

The true rub of it would be that it is a Masquerade! So everyone would have to remain in disguise!

Yes..indeed! The first, though beautiful in it's inclusion in song, out of context just sounds like something a young hoon would fancy hearing! The latter, as you said, is also very becoming of my character! It's allusions have vast range and meaning! Ahhhhhh...Arch and Mirû...true romantics at heart!! Why can't the ladies see?

Haha.......that's funny.....it does sound quite ridiculous out of context.....help me make the MUSIC of the night.....
They'll soon see.....when we wear that red costume and belt out Music of the Night or The Phantom of the Opera.......notice the word "belt"....LOL

In fact your're right.....i'm actually listening to that very song, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman version........i haven't heard the Emmy & Gerard version in full......
I've heard a small clip and as expected, it sounds more natural and less operatic.....
BTW - Blast my internet connection.....it's not logging me onto the track samples above..... :x

Mirûvor wrote: Oscar buzz for Phantom'He who believes he can't be destroyed, destroys himself," writes Bernie Brillstein, Hollywood entrepreneur, in his new book "The Little Stuff Matters Most." You can be sure Michael Ovitz never read this book, but if you aspire to a career in showbiz, you should read it. And now for something entirely different. I want to talk about a movie that I think will surely be nominated for an Academy Award, whether anyone believes me or not. When the history of movies has come and gone, I think there'll be more than a footnote about one opening Dec. 6 in London and Dec. 12 in the U.S., plus the worldwide opening on Dec. 22. "The Phantom of the Opera" is going to be an unforgettable hit. And probably Hollywood is already biting itself in exasperation because it may have to think of a Best Picture Oscar for the film's intrepid producer, Andrew Lloyd Webber of Great Britain. Like Mel Gibson before him, Andrew has personally put up the entire amount of money  $90 million  to make his great stage opus into a magnificent film that La La land cannot possibly ignore. (Mel had to ante up only $20 million to make his controversial and troublesome  to Hollywood  "The Passion of the Christ." But both of these unusual individual mountings of private bankrolls rank way up there in film history as belief in one's own personal vision.) Andrew is not popular here nor in Great Britain. He is too successful, and he touches a mainstream approval that always unnerves the cognoscenti. But his "Phantom" opened on London's West End stage in 1986 and then came to Broadway in 1988. It is still running in both cities and in many other places around the globe. This incredible musical has grossed $3 billion, more than any mere movie has ever earned! When Lloyd Webber was a child, his theater-mad auntie took him to see the musicals of Rodgers & Hammerstein. He experienced film versions of both "Carousel' and "Oklahoma!" which were very unlike their stage creations. Later, Andrew decided if ever his "Phantom" was put on film, he would show moviegoers the same kind of "Phantom" they can see in a legit theater. And now millions of people who have never been lucky enough to discover this show on a stage, will see the "Phantom" story for the first time. Others will be revisiting its epic thrill. I have seen just 15 minutes of this movie musical spectacle. I didn't have to see more. It is incredibly beautiful, tantalizing, stunning. If there is an ounce of justice at the Oscars, they'll just give up and hand Lord Andrew the prize. "Phantom of the Opera" is a fabled movie moment coming now and stretching back to Lon Chaney's silent original. By Liz Smith source: http://www.nypost.com
Phantom is kinda all over the place in terms of reviews so far......we've seen some extremely optimistic and positive reviews.......but there are also some reviews labbeling it "dissapointing" or just an oppulent production without emotion..... :?

Ever since i listened to the music, i was completely captivated by this wonderful musical. The songs are so romantic and emotional, and to see it on the big screen is just so fantastic since i haven't been to the play.
From what i've seen so far, this is one exquisite movie in terms of design and music, all the worries about Christine and Phantom have dissapated for me.
I love this play so much, I have the soundtrack which I lsiten to all the time. I am really looking forard tot his movie. I think Emmy Rossum was an excellent choice for Christine. I cannot wait!

"Phantom of the Opera" Movie Soundtrack Set for Nov. 23 Release
By Ernio Hernandez
and Andrew Gans
20 Oct 2004
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/89125.html
Sony Classical and Really Useful Records have set the release date for the original soundtrack recording of the Joel Schumacher-directed film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.
The soundtrack, which will feature the new song "Learn to Be Lonely," will be released on Nov. 23, almost one month prior to the film's U.S. release on Dec. 22.
The new song, "Learn to Be Lonely," is sung by Minnie Driver who plays the film's opera diva Carlotta. The track, penned by Lloyd Webber and lyricist Charles Hart, will play over the film's credits.
Sony Classical will release the "Phantom" recording in two editions: a single disc of highlights and a deluxe two-disc set featuring the score in a collector's edition package.
The score translated and recorded in French, Italian, Spanish and German will also be released internationally in those languages.
ased on the classic Gaston Leroux novel, The Phantom of the Opera features music by Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe. Harold Prince directed both the London and New York premieres. The New York production originally starring Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman won seven 1988 Tony Awards including one for Best Musical. The score includes such tunes as "Think of Me," "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "The Point of No Return" and the title tune.

Yes Emma is perfect for the part i think.....her voice is fantastic and she looks like a down to earth girl in real life. I don't have the soundtrack but i too also listen to the songs often.....All i Ask of You, Music of the Night and Phantom of the Opera are my favourites. Hope you can join us in our lead up to the movie's release....

PEOPLE's MAGAZINE: Gerard Butler
AGE: 35
WHO IS HE? The lead in "Phantom of the Opera", due at Christmas, which promises to make him a superstar.
THE MASK: A piece of leather covering a "deformity" that took four hours of makeup to create. "As soon as I put on that mask I became somebody else," he says. "I also learned a lot of finesse in using a cape!"
HIS APPEAL: The Scottish actor (and former barrister) has a great sense of humor. "When I'm 80 and I'm sagging all over, I can tell my grandkids, 'Look, when I was a lad, People magazine thought I was sexy!'" Says "Phantom" director Joel Schumacher: "He looks like a god in magazines, but when you're with him, he's a sweet, gentle, and goofy guy."
