Bush to visit Canada Nov. 30
Bush to visit Canada Nov. 30
OTTAWA - U.S. President George W. Bush will make his first official state visit to Canada Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.
Bush, who won re-election against Democratic Senator John Kerry, is making the trip before his inauguration on Jan. 20.
Don't worry. We'll give him a "warm" reception.

This sounds like a case for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Speeding with a horse isn't illegal in Canada. Now if there was a carriage tied to the horse then we got a whole different story.

Mixed reactions to announcement of Bush visit to Ottawa
OTTAWA - The reception President George W. Bush can expect later this month when he makes his first state visit to Ottawa is likely to be mixed, and that is causing some concern on Parliament Hill.
At least one Liberal MP will find it difficult to hide her distaste for the recently re-elected U.S. president. Carolyn Parrish didn't even try on Monday, playing along with CBC-TV's This Hour Has 22 Minutes by stomping on a George Bush action figure.
Parrish has been outspoken in the past, calling Americans "bastards" and mocking the U.S. plans for a missile defence shield by calling countries that follow the U.S. a "coalition of idiots."
Bush will come to Ottawa on Nov. 30 for a two-day visit that could include a speech to Parliament.
When U.S. President Ronald Reagan addressed Parliament in 1987, the NDP's Svend Robinson heckled him about his Star Wars defence plan, causing some embarrassment for the then-ruling Tories.
Such antics coming from the government benches could be more embarrassing this time out.
Conservative deputy leader Peter MacKay said Liberals who don't like Bush should keep it to themselves.
"My advice to those Liberals is to get over it, and ... to use their heads, think about their constituents, think about the businesses in this country that are being affected, and the families and the farmers and the forest industry," said MacKay.

 Canadian PM expels anti-Bush MP
rusty wrote: I just pray to god that we don't have a couple of dumb MP's embaress the country... embarrass is such a cool word... and the reason couldn't be more obvious  Butt... I mean BUT, no, I don't think any MP could possibly embarrass us (Say THAT really fast three times) and worse than Dubya embarrasses the US every time he opens that crooked little mouth of his. Anyway, Martin is totally insane to expel one of his own for DUBYA's sake, of all people! (Especially with his minority gov't at stake.) Quote: The Canadian prime minister has expelled an MP from the ruling Liberal Party because of her outspoken criticism of US President George Bush.
On Wednesday the MP, Carolyn Parrish, appeared on a TV comedy show, in which she stamped on an effigy of Mr Bush.
Paul Martin acknowledged Ms Parrish's right to express her views frankly, but he said he could not tolerate behaviour that demeaned and disrespected others.
Ms Parrish will now sit as an independent in the Canadian parliament.
Correspondents say her dismissal further weakens the position of the Liberal Party, which returned to power in June but with a minority in parliament.
The Liberals and their New Democrat allies have fewer MPs than the combined opposition.
'Unacceptable'
Ms Parrish, who represents a district near Toronto, has made several outspoken comments in the past.
She has called supporters of the US ballistic missile defence plan the "coalition of the idiots" and this month described Mr Bush as "war-like".
She also told a reporter that she "wouldn't shed a tear " if Mr Martin were to lose the next election, and that his team "can all go to hell".
"It is unacceptable. There are better, more civil and more effective ways to make your case than those she has chosen," Mr Martin said on Thursday.
Ms Parrish was quoted by the Canadian media as saying that she had no regrets about her statements.
President Bush is due to visit to Canada at the end of the month.

I'm actually happy she got expelled. Without the support of the liberal party, she obviously won't be re-elected come the next election (probably coming in around a year). It is quite unacceptable for representatives to do the things she did. There are ways to do things and get your views out there without doing personal attacks. She just makes canadians look bad.
