You know what? Because we're such a small population right now,and so few girls (as always), I think we should combine the desert awards. I mean, in the end, from what i understood, it depicts the people you wouldn't mind being stranded with and has little to do with who you are atteacted to.

Just my opinion .. what do you guys think?

Since there is a majority of guys here and guys would much rather be with girls on the island wouldn't all winners be girls then? :wink:

As to the suggestions, maybe splitting Debator is a good idea, and a couple other people have said so as well. All the Buffs you suggested ixnaying I agree with, but since Sommie came in here and prepared a whole campaign for Video Game...I kinda feel a guilt complex coming on now. So someone else, I guess, make the call on that one.

depends on how you look at the awards.
for me the desert award is the type that if I'm stranded, who is it that I need to be with that'll make it easier ... thinking from a less sexual point of view, this award to me focusses most on who's company here do you enjoy the most and think will be able to enjoy in the same manner in real life ... This could be the guy you fight with constantly, cause you know you wont get bored ... or the person who has the same interests .. or whatever ...

mat, problem with all the categories is the following

theyre all good but last time, we had about 25 categories
it takes hours to count the votes
but because you're given deadlines, you force yourself to.
presenting becomes a problem
ceremony becomes toooo long!

don't worry. I read some of your categories. Theyre good and hopefully, we'll incorporate them into the informal TonyM and arsiB awards (like the one we had over at BOM very soon.

Definitely. Because of two reasons mostly:

1. Too many categories don't inspire people to vote. I know that for sure as when I organized the wards last time and PMed some big posters asking them to vote they said that it is just too much work.

2. This is the nature of the awards that things keep changing each time and it is also much more work counting the votes than one would ever imagine. If you don't believe me, ask Ripper. I am sure she still remembers our endless counting and recounting.

So do we have an official new list yet? I think I've heard enough comments about going out with Weirdest, Comic Book to get those out. Also, add "Best Thread" and I have no idea what else has been decided. i am leaning towards keeping Best Newbie and reserving it for non ex-BOMers to give them a little recognition. There are same great new members here like Appy and Driveaway that might get a bit lost amongst all of us that already know eachother, except for Appy and desert Island, which is a shoe-in.
