Let's see...
Alex (the cocky guy) gained the trust of a shy woman with a ginormous tumor named Annie. While undergoing a scan, she heard his mean comments behind her back and refused to have him present during her surgery. During the actual surgery, her tumor sort of...popped...and the doctors were unable to make her recover.
Cristina and the Burke the surgeon continued their "affair".
Bailey lectured both Shepherd and Meredith on their relationship, to the point where Shepherd admonished Meredith for no real reason so that Bailey would see.
Izzie had to do her very first chest opening? Where they cut you with the thing that looks like a pizza slicer.
George figured out that Meredith was seeing someone (he doesn't know who yet), which is bad news for him, I guess, because he likes her.

Yeah, and they tried to redeem Alex a bit by having him rush for blood, which at the time was needed but by the time he got back with it she was dead and we see him looking sad. It kind of worked on me, he's still an ass but I can see how he can turn it around.
I'd like to see an episode not centered on Meredith, I know it's unlikely because she is the main character but I find that George, Christina and Izzy are all more interesting than her. We know much less about them and I think it would very good to see their pasts explored. Perhaps next season.

Izzy particularly holds my interest, which is surprising because I've always thought Katherine Heigl couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.

Yeah, I'd have to say that thus far Izzy is my favorite character, with George being a close second. I'm not a big fan of Christina, I guess I find Sandra Oh somewhat wooden in her acting style. I'm sure that will improve as the season continues though.
Any word on how many episodes there will be in this season? Definately looking forward to the next one.
One thing I would like to see though is some of the stories carry between different episodes, instead of everything being neatly wrapped up at the end. I'm sure we will see some of this in later episodes, or am I wrong? They are only on episode 6 after all...

This and Desperate Housewives both wrap up their seasons on May 22, which would be mean this show had 9 episodes for the first season.

More Grey's Anatomy for ABC
May 04, 2005
By John Consoli
ABC has picked up its midseason freshman drama, Grey's Anatomy, for the 2005-06 season. The show, at 10 p.m. Sunday, has been averaging a solid 17.8 million viewers and a 7.7/19 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Although the show has led out of another ABC first-year hit, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy has out-delivered CBS and NBC combined by 22 percent in adults 18-49. It also has bested its closest time period competitor, the CBS movie, by seven million viewers.

I had insefelelitis (sp?) on the first day of 6th grade, and it put me in the hospital for 10 days. The headache was terrible. It's a swelling of the brain. It was the first and only spinal tap that I've ever had, and the pain from having fluid drained from your spine can't be described. I obvioulsy didn't need half of my brain cut out. I didn't require surgery.

Yes, it was.
What a coincidence the weekend I decided to pull out some olf Once and Again tapes and watch till 3am.
As for the episode.
It was okay. Nothing too special. Alot more personal storyline advancement than anything really. I wonder what the finale is going to be like.... are they gonna ahve cliffhanger? I don't think it will be ER status because this show is a little more light-hearted.
And so is Sandra Oh's character pregnant? That's gonna be pretty interesting. I REALLY didn't see that comin and good too, they needed to add some spice to her, she was pretty boring.

The last couple of episodes have been great! I'm glad I kept watching this show because at first I thought it was only OK and gave it a 6/10 (C+). Now I'd give it an 8/10 (B+). The episode before the last one was sad with that one woman not making it, and this week's episode was touching with the storyline with the little girl.
And yay, they played another Tegan & Sara song on the last episode! This time it was "Downtown."
Anyway, this is a very good show. I love Katherine Heigl on it as Izzy. She's my favorite. And I really like the friendship that's going on between her and George.
I'm glad this is such a big hit! But it's too bad the first season will be over so soon . It will have only had 9 episodes for the first season. But hey, this way it shouldn't take too terribly long to get the first season out on DVD. It could be out by the end of summer, or at the very least in September when LOST, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, supposedly VERONICA MARS, etc... are supposed to be coming out. But you'd think they could get it out sooner since it's only 9 episodes, unless of course they want to include a lot of special features.

Finally got around to watching this week's episode. It was good, but not as good as past episodes. One thing that I still dislike is that they wrap up each medical case with each individual show.
For example, I would have liked to see more on what happened with "Mrs. Patterson" from a few weeks ago, or what happened to the rape victim. Maybe it is just me?
As for this episode, I think they are relying to heavily on the George-Meredith-Shepherd triangle, and maybe should not focus as much on it for the last two episodes, except for briefly in the finale. Anyone else think they might break up in the finale? And of course, Christina is obviously pregnant. That's going to be interesting, I think she may be the first one to leave the program, though I think Alex's day's are numbered as well.
For next season, anyone think they will bring in a few new interns or something of the like?

Agreed, but I do wish they would stop nailing the point home every episode that Cricket had to work hard to get where she is now. Growing up in a trailer, waitressing, modelling, yadda yadda yadda poverty. We got it the first three times.

I finally got around to seeing the episode for this week and I have to agree with everyone else, it was easily one of the best if not the best of the season.
I really like the development they put into Meredith and Derrik's relationship, and I no longer think that they will break up during the finale.
I also really like the amount of time that has gone to Izzy/Cricket, though I agree I wish she'd stop talking about the trailer park. And finally, George got a date.
As far as the patients go, I think the Jewish girl was very well thought out. I was impressed how well it was scripted, and definately that is my favorite patient thus far. I thought the psychic was cool too, but I think they didn't have enough resoultion to it during the end of the show.

Hahaha, did anyone else notice the goof with George's socks in the beginning? Came out of the bathroom wearing black socks, walked into his room bare foot.

I don't know if it's because it had better comedy, or if it was because they cut out the ridiculous use of songs during the show, but I just found this episode to be at another level.

No Tegan & Sara song tonight. They had one on the previous episode though, and have on most episodes, so yay!
But anyway, the finale was very solid. The last few episodes have been great. I'm so glad I kept watching the show. I love Katherine Heigl on it. She is easily my favorite. I can't wait until the second season, which will have more than double the episodes. I definitely want to buy this on DVD.
I'm really happy this show is such a big hit!

I was just a little bit disappointed with the finale.
It was a solid episode altogether but it didn;t stand out AT ALL from the rest and it wasn't the best episode of the series thus far.
I would have been okay with going for a mediocre and of course, medically induced, cliffhanger or maybe none at all if it was a big eventful episode.
But it wasn't a big eventful one and they had a non-medical related CHEEEEZY cliffhanger.
I mean that line was like straight out of Soap Opera 101 or that revleation or whatever you call it.
I liked that Meredith told him about her mother.
I have been really annoyed by the romantic relationship between Meredith and the doctor (forgot his show name) and it was always the least interesting and quite truthfully the most poisoning for the show. when she told him that, it went to a different level, it became something a little more interesting. Imagine her state of mind or her emotions and feelings for telling him that. It was a big step for her and they could ahve really taken a better path with that storyline.
But No! He's married and she's shocked. I could care less and probably am relieved that it won't be one cliffhanger I will be wondering about all summer!
The finale was around an 8/10
So far, the series has been about an 8.5/10
This is all in my opinion and if anyone wants to compare, here are the rest of the shows I watch and my seasonal rating for them all....
Desperate Housewives: 9/10 (finale: 8.5/10)
ALIAS: 7/10
LOST: 8.5/10
Jack and Bobby: ~8.75/10 (finale: 8.5/10)
