 Wicked Part 2 Predictions
Can it beat Wakanda Forever for the biggest November opening?
I think not quite since it skews older and more family and still a lot of people will wait for Thanksgiving to watch it but I definitely think something in the range of Catching Fire’s 158m is possible.
Unless it’s poorly received probably will hold well too, if not quite as well as first film. Overall see it at least matching the first film, even if it’s due to a higher opening and shorter legs.

 Re: Wicked Part 2 Predictions
There's a reason why I chose it first in the draft! It's going to be MASSIVE.
So many people are going to discover Wicked over the next few weeks and year. It's going to be a major pop culture event.
Also, it had a $112M opening primarily due to a nearly 3 hr run time AND opened within 5 days of a Moana monster doing $230M+ in its first 5 days?
Glicked <<<<< Wicktopia.

Biggest hurdle here is all the biggest songs are in Part 1.
There may be upside potential esp. OS though if more people try Part 1 on streaming.

Bold prediction - Wicked: For Good will win 2025 (too early to make a club thread yet)

 Re: Wicked Part 2 Predictions
The original Zootopia had a worldwide gross of $1.02 billion. Wicked part 1 had a worldwide gross of $756 million though it will go up because Universal will release it again before Wicked part 2 is released in theaters. I think Zootopia 2 will have a bigger worldwide gross than Wicked part 2. I've read that the best songs from the musical Wicked were used in Wicked part 1. This actually may help Wicked part 2 because maybe fans won't sing in the theaters, which annoys casual fans. Another factor that may help Wicked: For Good is that Dorothy will make more of a presence in this film. However I suspect that the trailer is implying that Dorothy may only play a small role, certainly less than the character that ends up as the tin man without a heart.

Yeah I meant domestic, it's not as popular worldwide.
I have seen the play bootleg and Dorothy is not in it but Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion are worked in fun way. The first half of the soundtrack is definitely better.

No, Avatar will still pretty easily beat it. It will be neck and neck with Zootopia for #2.

I think it'll make basically the same as the first one. There's a hard ceiling for this type of film.

 Re: Wicked Part 2 Predictions
Yeah I don’t see this growing beyond the success of Part 1, I think it’ll land in similar territory.
