 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
I wouldn't be surprised if Blink Twice opens bigger than the Crow.

 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
Feels like next weekend could be a 3 way race for #1 if none of the openers break out?
1 D&W $18.56 -36% 2 Alien $17.85M -57% 3 It Ends With Us $17.76M -26%

 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
The Crow looks so bad, but the property has plenty of fans that are nostalgic for the first one (which was never that good anyway.) The Ice Nine Kills song "A Grave Mistake" is by far the best adaptation of the material. I'll predict something like $4M for the first day and a half and then only a $9M weekend and about $20M total.
Blink Twice looks good though. Hoping it can hit double digits. Is $11M a reasonable prediction or will it go the way of Cuckoo?

Blink Twice looks like a Glass Onion copy with a cheaper lead.

 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
With 80% RT I could see Blink Twice doing well as latest in the Get Out/The Menu/Knives Out 2/etc. type subgenre.

 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
Hmm, I didn't get a Knives Out "detective" vibe from its trailer, but it does have the mystery/ thriller vibes from the other examples. And maybe it's just because the Tatum with Polaroid shot that's on my mind but I had to think of One Hour Photo too. I don't expect too much from its gross, but it should be the best newcomer.

They're all kind of tapping into the hip young person's view on capitalism or race in my opinion.

1 D&W $18.56 -36% 2 Alien $17.85M -57% 3 It Ends With Us $17.76M -26% I think it ends or Deadpool will win. Alien's OW has been fairly front loaded and it will have a big 2nd weekend drop and then stabilize.

 Re: August 23-25 Predictions
Charlie says $4.8M for Alien's Tuesday. Thinks it can go to $120M+.
$4.8M is pretty good with a $10.3M Sunday. Will have a big fall this weekend but looking like it won't have a 2X multiplier or anything. Looking good at least for #2 Alien film and possibly #1.

I strongly encourage everyone to get their ass to the theater for 'Strange Darling.' I highly recommend going in blind as I did, but if you must watch the trailer, rest assured it does a commendable job of preserving the film's surprises. I saw it tonight and it truly is a gem. My friends and I were thoroughly impressed. The performances, cinematography, and score are all exceptional. This film genuinely deserves your support.

I was torn between that and Blink Twide tonight. Made the wrong choice. Gonna try for SD next week though.
