Post December Weekend Predictions/Estimates Thread
I know its half way December but I believe we should just put all predictions and estimates of the month in a single thread.

As of this weekend

1 The Croods: A New Age $3,010,000 -32% $24,260,105
2 Half Brothers $490,000 -30% $1,381,525
3 Freaky $315,000 -34% $8,233,365
- The War with Grandpa $266,864 -16% $17,964,819
- All My Life $215,000 -42% $695,930
- Come Play $176,000 -23% $9,209,715
- Die Hard $16,000 -28% $81,675,242
- Honest Thief $135,000 -30% $14,020,771
- Tenet $125,000 -31% $57,800,000

Croods seem to be doing really well with holidays I can see it overtake Tenet as the biggest movie released over pandemic.

According to THR
Quote:
Less than 37 percent of theaters in the U.S. are presently open

Yeah, WW is probably not clearing 10m next weekend. If it does all things considered that'd be good.

Croods will top out below 40M. Monster Hunter will be able to gross more DOM than China, but not by that much :funny:

There is a lot of advertising going off or Wonder Woman and the Tom Hanks movie.

Yeah News of the World actually looks to be doing pretty solid at the theaters I've looked at for Christmas day. Hopefully it does well.

$1M Friday for News of the World.

270k for Promising Woman.

Probably won’t get any Wonder Woman numbers till tomorrow, or maybe next sunday if they are disappointing. :P

Great for News of the World. Was expecting more from PYW.

It's WB, after their disastrous coverage of Tenet's weekly numbers, I wouldn't be surprised if they held off until they got subscription numbers to add to it.

Agreed WB and AT&T have been very shady to Chuck out BO numbers.

I don't even think it's great for News. I know a bit more theaters were open at the time but Honest Thief, Let Him Go, and others had a better start than this. And this was on Christmas which is a busier moviegoing day (even during a pandemic). I thought it might do 2+ for opening day at least.

Was thinking PYW could do $400,000 for Friday. Fingers crossed by New Year's it might be at 2 Million.

I can't imagine WW didn't do well by pandemic standards. Wish they'd release the damn number.

NotW has a lot of competition in the market with streaming movies hogging all the attention and it doesn't have glowing reviews behind it with lesser screens so I think it did well.

Croods 2 passed 30m and will go over 100m+ WW. Considering it's on PVOD rn and has a 65 million budget it seems like they'll probably break even eventually... so good for today's standards?

Absolutely! With holidays it should end up with $40m in domestic BO in the end IMO.

Plus it skewed really old and that demographic is the least likely to go to theaters right now. So it has that on its side.

Will be interesting to see the daily numbers for everything over the next week. Man do I miss the huge numbers this stretch used to bring in.

You know we've hit a new low for box office when so many articles are being written about the "records" WW84 has broken.

Box Office reporting has become as fun as catching stats on Canadian Football.

I honestly wonder how different things would be if Wonder Woman was released in Tenet's slot.

In Tenets slot, I could have seen a 40-50m OW.

Releasing WW84 in August would probably have saved cinema.
