IDK WTF some of these protestors think is going to happen. They're the fucking police. Bringing force against them will be met with force, captain obvious alert?

Only critique I have of this, as usual, is while 95% of the protestors practice what they preach, there is still that 5% of the group who can't help themselves and see "White person = racist". Reserve the "racist" title for actual racists, and use the "friend" title for white people who are your side. Burning unneeded bridges helps nobody.

Check out the Rodney King LA riots. That poor white truck driver who just happened to pull down the wrong street...

WHAT?

Watch this version of the video under the lens of him freaking out cause he took too many drugs and then fading, and pay attention to what Floyd and everyone else is saying. It is perfectly believable. Drugs are referenced 4 times in the video including the words OD-ed even being used by one of the bystanders.

Whether the knee was the biggest cause of death or not, there is little doubt Floyd was on drugs and I fully expect the toxicology report to back that up. They were pinning him because he was too out of it to get in the car while waiting for an ambulance to come. He apparently was saying "I can't breathe" while STANDING according to the complaint below (Not sure if the police could be lying about this? A lot of witnesses and/or video) The 9-1-1 call also said he was on something. So if he accept he was on drugs saying it was a possible OD is not a reach.

Quote:
The officers made several attempts to get Mr. Floyd in the backseat of squad 320 from the driver’s side.
Mr. Floyd did not voluntarily get in the car and struggled with the officers by intentionally falling down, saying
he was not going in the car, and refusing to stand still. Mr. Floyd is over six feet tall and weighs more than
200 pounds.

While standing outside the car, Mr. Floyd began saying and repeating that he could not breathe. The
defendant went to the passenger side and tried to get Mr. Floyd into the car from that side and Lane and
Kueng assisted.

The defendant pulled Mr. Floyd out of the passenger side of the squad car at 8:19:38 p.m. and Mr. Floyd
went to the ground face down and still handcuffed. Kueng held Mr. Floyd’s back and Lane held his legs. The
defendant placed his left knee in the area of Mr. Floyd’s head and neck. Mr. Floyd said, “I can’t breathe”
multiple times and repeatedly said, “Mama” and “please,” as well. The defendant and the other two officers
stayed in their positions.

The officers said, “You are talking fine” to Mr. Floyd as he continued to move back and forth. Lane asked,
“should we roll him on his side?” and the defendant said, “No, staying put where we got him.” Officer Lane
said, “I am worried about excited delirium or whatever.” The defendant said, “That’s why we have him on his
stomach.” None of the three officers moved from their positions.

Shack, by my experience and medical knowledge even if he were drugged or whatever. The cop STILL put his knee on his neck, not allowing him to breathe. Killing him.

You wanna test your theory? Go ahead and ask someone to put his knee on your neck for 8 minutes while SOBER and see if you survive. If you do maybe I'll accept your theory

What gets lost is that even if Floyd had survived the incident, there should have been mass outrage. Nothing else maters aside from the police mistreatment, including any potential drugs in his system.

To the people that feel the 3 other officers standing are just as responsible as the main officer by standing around and not intervening, there Is strong parallels to the peaceful protesters refusing to disperse when asked by law enforcement, thus providing cover to the looters and arsonists and complicity condoning their actions.

TV cameras showed a true hero at a looting today. A couple looters were trying to break into a business entrance, and a peaceful protester came up to the door and blocked their way, The camera filmed as she gets manhandled and shoved out of the way, and she bravely came right back to blocking the door. The looters even threw fireworks at her, but she fearlessly stood her ground and successfully protected the store. The tv media then interviewed her afterwards, and she was not affiliated with the store but just wanted to convey the message of peaceful protesting while condemning any violence regardless if from corrupt cop or looter.

Btw my post isn’t a defense on police, but more an indictment of the protestors not condemning the looters. Tv cameras clearly show the police being useless, where there will be group of police standing around watching looters and not bothering to stop or chase them away. These cops just don’t care when crime is being committed, regardless whether the crime is being committed by looter or by a corrupt cop. And many protestors don’t seem to care when crime is committed by non-cops either, as long as it helps gain them media coverage.

The anti-protestors should be focused on how these riots are spreading Rona and might lead to a second shut down. But most of the anti-protestors also think Rona is a hoax so they can only focus on defending the murdering racist cops.

The protesters have mainly been young people. In a twisted way, I feel the looting and vandalism is more effective than stay-at-home orders at scaring old people from leaving their homes such that covid-19 death count may not explode as expected.

It will be interesting how people will react if some "protesters" kill a person, even half-accidentally.

63 people were killed in the Rodney King riots.

Are you referring to my post? If so, I find it hard to make any sense of your post.

I think killing people is wrong. If protesters kill innocent people, it will INCREASE police state mentality. Unless you support totalitarian mindset, I fail to see your point.

One policeman is not the "state", BTW.

The madness spewing from the White House should be deeply concerning to any American citizen concerned with the country's welfare/continued existence--any justifications or defenses for either these police officers' behavior in particular or this administration's response to the continuing situation is some kind of willful ignorance or Stockholm Syndrome condition.

It's this kind of stuff that makes it hard to bridge the gap between people once the violence settles down. Historically, nothing really changes and one side (always black people or whatever minority in particular) is simply expected to move on at a certain point because what alternative is there? It's either keep burning buildings down/march on the White House or accept things to go forward with life and show up at the voting booth come election time. How do you go back to being chummy with your neighbor or sharing drinks with coworkers once everyone's made their polar opposite positions known on these extreme issues, though?

Do you genuinely believe that if for example 63 people are killed in the protests/riots, it will decrease police state mentality? Also worth noting: It will mostly be poor blacks killing other poor blacks, just like in Rodney King riots.

There is a reason why Martin Luther King Jr. achieved so much more than the Nation Of Islam.

No. But do you know what will? (defunding the police)

Defunding? This means changing a lot of it to private "police", in practice. Also less resources means less salary, worse recruits, less training, more corruption, etc, etc.

Trump says he is mobilizing a heavily armed military force to stop the riots. Who knows what that actually means with him though.
