Why remake West Side Story? Im pretty dissapointed Spielberg is wasting his time with this.

Next year looks weak in general. Only lock for 300m+ is WW1984. Hopefully we’ll get some big breakouts and it won’t be 2014 redux.

Lol their schedule is awful, karma for overloading everything onto 2019 but I guess they had to make cash fast after spending so much on Fox.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
Cruella, Thor, Dr. Strange, Mulan all have 300+ potential, and Black Widow, Jungle Cruise 200+, and West Side Story, Death on the Nile, etc, and other superhero movies. Looks to be a pretty solid year. I'll go with Thor 4 as that looks to be the only 140+ opener as of now.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
Oh that's a bummer. What are the 4 films then? it's all originals? Having like 10+ films in a semi continuous storyline or the last 4 years just seems like more time has gone by. Thor 3 was only like 2 years ago exactly, but he's been in 3 films. 4 years does make sense.
I guess in a way that is a smart move. Where Thor, Guardians, and the original Marvel Phases dwindle down, I suppose it's important to introduce as many new things among the reliable send offs moving forward.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
Mulan (2020) - 7/24/20 Black Widow - 11/6/20 Artemis Fowl - straight to Disney+ Soul - 6/19/20 (this is not staying here...) The One and Only Ivan - 8/14/20 Raya and the Last Dragon - 11/25/20
Yikes lol
So I'm not sure how the world will be for Mulan's release but Black Widow should be big still.

Wow New Mutants was supposed to come out today. Honestly they should've released it digitally today.

MGM by virtue of Bond. :-D
Probably Disney with Soul, Black Widow and whatever else was planned for this fall.

Wrong thread I guess lilmac? This is about biggest Disney movie and not biggest studio. I think Black Widow will definitely blow up now.

Lololol
If Black Widow opens in November I think that will show the true potential of theaters in this climate.

Wonder Woman and Black Widow are too close to each other now. One of them might eat into the other's BO.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
So I’m curious about Mulans release strategy. It makes sense to push it further or release it in theaters, but how can it make more released straight to streaming rather than opening in theaters first. It would be one thing if theaters were still closed in America but most of them are open. I don’t see many going for the $30 watch when it says in a disclaimer beneath it will be free on December 4.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
With Mulan Disney getting all the $$$ for this release as opposed to having to pay theaters or digital services. If enough people do this and they do this with like... Soul or Black Widow then this worked.

I just hope it's restricted experiment with Mulan alone. And now I wish D+ doesn't release here anytime soon lol.

Re: Disney's 2020 - what will be their biggest movie?
It seems part of Mulan was filmed in Xinjiang with the help of the authorities there. The Chinese government has set up "re-education" camps in the region to round up and indoctrinate hundreds of thousands of people in the Ughur community, a blatant violation of human rights.
