Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Trailer premieres tomorrow. Will be interesting considering Endgame hasn't released yet but *shrug*

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
I bet this is a prequel or alternate universe. There’s no way they spoil Endgame.

I mean.... we all know that almost everyone is coming back. But yeah, keen to see how tomorrow pans out for this unless it's like a really short teaser.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Trailer is pretty much the same one they showed at the Brazil Comic-Con a month ago, and it doesn't look like they are spoiling much. There probably won't be a huge sequel bump for it, but the goodwill from Homecoming/IW plus coming fresh off of Endgame should guarantee at least another $100M+ OW. If he has a significant role in Endgame that could boost the OW even more, but I doubt it finishes with more than $350M domestic.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
He has the original suit in his closet so this is definitely a prequel. That is for the best.
Mysterio being an apparent good guy though? Now that’s a nice little twist. I assume he is behind the sandman, hydroman and foreman illusions though. What would a person do to become adored in Age of Heroes.

What would a person do to become adored in Age of Heroes. Doesn't prove it is a a prequel. Maybe he just likes his original suit. The trailer doesn't really give us any indication when it takes place. although I bet it is after endgame because I am certain the snap will be reversed.

Since it’s coming out after Endgame it’ll get a boost. 300m domestic / 1.1b WW

Looks good. $300m is the floor. International flavor of this one will play well overseas of course. Mysterious looks awesome.

Is it possible this one really blows up? Spiderman is obviously very popular character and Holland version is established now.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
$130m OW, $340m total. Coming out too close to Endgame to really benefit the same way, say, Iron Man 3 did. People will have already had their fix of Spider-Man this summer (oh yes, he will be in Endgame).

I had already forgotten this was coming out this summer.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Well, year's are split into pre and post Avengers event movie, so anything after Endgame just isn't in the forefront of your mind yet.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Just realized that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse just reached $190 FUCKING MILLION. That's just incredible. Nobody expected that. Even the most hopeful predictions were around $120m.
The funniest thing is that Mary Poppins Returns only made $171m, and there were predictions of $450 million being thrown around for that!

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
This moves to Tuesday, July 2. Good move. Should get all time Tuesday record. Homecoming had a 50m OD so it would need a 37m+ OD to beat TFA.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Is $1B for this pretty much locked now? I mean unless the movie sucks I don't see how it doesn't get there considering his exposure in both IW and EG not to mention the goodwill from Homecoming.

(Er... Endgame spoilers?) The whole 5 year thing has me confused in regards to this movie, feel like it'll be totally glossed over though.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
Based viewing leaked videos and the experience in my theater, this is going to be fucking huge. He got BY FAR the biggest response of the returning heros Thinking this challenges $500m domestic and utterly dominates July.

Re: Spider-Man: Far From Home predictions
There is also the factor that Spider-man is closest to Iron Man in terms of technology and funny one-liners, plus he is the biggest draw among all MCU superheroes even after some of the aura is now diluted.
