Haunting of Hill House (Netflix)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6763664/Anyone watched this yet? It’s getting good reviews and raves from audiences. It’s created by Mike Flanigan (admit I’m not a big fan of his films) but 2 episodes in and it’s a good drama with horror elements. Not overly scary but it is creepy and quite melancholy. I’ll stick with it because the 9.1 on IMDB appears to indicate it gets better over the course of the season.

Re: Haunting of Hill House (Netflix)
I finished this last night and yeah it's really good. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece or the scariest thing ever, but Flanagan does such a damn good job with the direction and the scares. He definitely tapped into his inner James Wan here and it shows. If your a fan of The Conjuring movies you should enjoy it because it is just as much if not more so of a family drama with some horror elements thrown in, but it works because the performances from the actors are very solid.

I thought this would be a 10 episode version of a Conjuring like horror movie, but the first epiaode was definitely not that at all. And for the better too. Eager to see how it all plays out.
Nell’s fate is very sad.

The second episode was very Netflixy, focusing on a specific character for almost the entire runtime. Still good though.

This show is just bonkers.
Bent Neck Lady may be the most tragic thing to ever happen on tv.

I thought it was great and very well done. The family elements make the show work.

Yeah, this was really well done and I usually hate Mike Flanagan. Elegantly directed and atmospheric with great characters. Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Pedretti and the kids were absolutely fantastic and the standouts of the cast.
Episodes 5 and 6 were the best.

I have seen 8 episodes now and this show is great. Possibly even #1 for the year if it lands the final two episodes. Nell saying hi to Shirley and Theo in the car is an all timer.

Re: Haunting of Hill House (Netflix)
Finally finished this and have to say I enjoyed it - more so as a drama than a horror series as it really isnt scary at all.
It is engaging and well directed/acted so well worth watching.
