Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
There was a deadline for a reason. We had, like, 4 damn weeks to predict! It's only one game he'll miss. Maybe next time supaprince will get in before the deadline.

Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
I would have accepted it if it was a few hours after the deadline, but 17+ hours was too far for me. Yes I could just not accept his The Nun prediction, but that would encourage others just to make prediction edits if they're already missing points for The Nun.
Just a reminder that it doesn't hurt to post early predictions in and just edit them as you can up until the deadline. I do intend someday to make an actual website with a much easier UI into submitting predictions, which would give you trailer access, instantly see average predictions, and more quickly see points updates.

Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
Yay every one was different!
Gotta say I am surprised that nobody else predicted a huge breakout for Venom. Sure the trailers are bad but those youtube views are nuts. And how many times do we have to see C-List superheroes dominate montly records before its expected?

Yeah I am really digging the charts too. I already know I'm going to be wrong on Widows. Those reviews are terrific.

Must have taken hours to produce all those charts. Late night maybe ... "minumum".

My predictions were excluded, must be an oversight. But my top 5 is also unique this game. I went Ralph, Beasts, Aqua, Grinch, Poppins.

But I agree with KC, it excites me when everything is different haha. Then there's a possibility that someone gets it right. Last game was the closest we've come- and this looks like a wild ride.

I'll join the choir...those new charts are amazing! And the fact that all Top 5 predictions are different is nuts and a beautiful surprise!
I took many risks this time, let's see if they pay off.

Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
Updated the charts that were posted so far with SolC9's predictions. Plus I realized a few movie prediction charts were missing (First Man, The Girl in the Spider's Web, Halloween, The Hate U Give, Holmes & Watson) - those are now present too.

Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
Damn!! SolC9 is back in competition Great work KC just to reiterate Algren's point, there is spell error in Minumum instead of minimum. Not sure if you'd like to fix that specially if it's too much work

Re: KJ's Fall/Winter Box Office Contest 2018
Yikes.
Just went through RT scores and read some more information on some of the films and I look screwed on some of them.
Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis returning, kinda like Scream 4 but retaining the R (which is what I compared it to) but then the grosses were misleading in the BOM franchise tab. My $64m (exactly the same as the Nun) looks Dead Before Arrival. It'll probably make close to $100m and if it's actually good (currently fresh) might make around $120-130m.
Widows looked so, so, so generic. It still does, and although it's not as though Steve McQueen is a draw, perhaps it'll overperform to the tune of the higher predictors in the section.
And though a high RT score doesn't mean a movie will do well, I am on the lower end for A Star is Born, A Simple Favour and would probably miss out on The Hate U Give if that strikes a chord. Interesting to see how it all plays out.
Had a terrible showing last game.
