Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Can Stephanie add "For the first time ever, a pay per view where the women were way more interesting than the men" to her stock women's evolution promos? The women's chamber was better than the predictable men's, plus Alexa and Nia and Rousey's segment were the next two most memorable things to happen that night. I'm interested to see whether they keep Rousey around after Wrestlemania or she just disappears into the training center until 2019 at minimum. She is not even CLOSE to ready, I mean the years of wrestling training alone to put on a real match is one thing, but her promo at Elimination Chamber also showed she is starting at ground zero on the mic too. If they try to make her a main roster wrestler immediately after this Mania I don't see how it works.
I'm only 1/3 through Raw right now, but I assume Cena ends up in the Fast Lane match at Smackdown, loses, then hears the Undertaker's bell the next night? Actually, might as well make Shinsuke put his #1 contender on line against him, he needs a Fast Lane tune up match

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
I'm curious as to the style and schedule Ronda will have. If she has a Brock-style schedule, that's going to be a disaster. She needs to be a performer every week on RAW. Fans will quickly leave her if she gets in the ring only at PPVs and especially if she's incredibly green.

I think the "no perks" talk during her contract signing was to dispel any doubt she'll be another Lesnar. I don't know, I get the feeling the WWE is something she has passion for and wants to experience to its fullest, at least for the time being.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Assuming it was a work, surprised they would pull the rug on fans who paid to see Brock, but anything to get Reigns more over.
Reigns must be going over at Mania even if Brock is staying. Someone has to beat Brock clean sometime (err. except Goldberg), and it may as well be Vince's golden goose and the man who retired the Undertak-wait nvm. It's time for Brock to lose the Universal Title after a year as well.
WWE apparently is going to all dual brand PPVs after May. I like it. They don't need to have these more than once every 4 or 5 weeks, and they will all feel more important.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Dual brand PPVs means less need to have a present Universal Champion. I hope that's not the case.
For once, I'm firmly behind Roman Reigns. He's not the hero we want, but the one we need.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Rumored that Owens and Zayn might be Andre the Giant Battle Royale and KO made a tweet with a screenshot of a battle royale saying he's studying tape (though he could just be trolling). Ouch. While they were fun together I question the logic of taking Owens after he was red hot during Hell in a Cell feud at the time and pairing with with one of the coldest stars on Smackdown at the time in Zayn. It makes sense that while Zayn has benefitted, Owens has suffered, they're now both somewhere in the middle.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
He's probably trolling, but it wouldn't be shocking either. The only possible Mania match for him now will be against Zayne, right?
I've missed Smackdown the past two weeks (besides this past week's main event), but is Bryan vs. Shane really not going to happen? They were building that up really well -- it'd be disappointing if it's fallen through.
Also, Smackdown needs a significant change post the draft this year. It was competing, even beating at times, Raw in 2016 and the first half of 2017, but since last Summer or so, it's become incredibly mediocre in every way.

Zayn and KO v Usos for tag titlesis such an easy to sell Mania match. Getting the Dre would be brutal for KO.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
More Shane McMahon shenanigans.
Orton beating Roode for the US Title is a bit groan worthy, in my opinion, but the crowd enjoyed it. I suppose we'll see a triple threat for the title at Mania that includes Mahal.
Asuka challenging Charlotte is the best move. She's already beaten Alexa, and that match just doesn't have the dream match or big match feel.
AJ versus Nakamura is official now, thank god.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Just when WWE builds up a decent tag team division, they have Cesaro and Sheamus defend against... Braun Strowman at Wrestlemania. A cute novelty, but it serves neither Braun nor the tag division to have him be the first ever solo tag team champion.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Also, rumors are swirling that Undertaker will return as the American Badass against Cena. Fuck, I'd actually want to see that. The promo Cena cut last night didn't indicate we'd get the normal, "taking souls, digging holes" Taker. The jab at posting workout videos on his wife's Instagram kind of ruins the whole Dead Man persona. Plus they've kind of buried the fact that Taker wasn't always the Dead Man, but in the Kid Rock HOF video, they mentioned his Badass character. Interesting...
And it was a nice touch during the Roman segment to have Shane backstage with Vince. Nice bit of a worked shoot angle.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Cena's promo was pretty great. And I also hope that biker Taker is the one who accepts the challenge, if only because it makes sense after he essentially "retired" the dead man at last year's Mania and maybe at Raw 25 (his promo there was odd).

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Also... can the WWE crowd stop with the "WHAT?" chants when Asuka and Nakamura are talking? Not only is it disrespectful, but that stupid chant has been outdated for over a decade.
And the "Rusev Day" chant is becoming increasingly annoying as well, in my opinion, since it's being chanted now during almost every match...
AND WWE really should have named the women's battle royal after someone other than Moolah... Surely one of WWE's top executives considered the inevitable backlash, right? This sends the exact opposite message they've been promoting in the women's division, and having Charlotte, Naomi, Natalya, etc. praise Moolah puts them in an awkward position now, too. Even naming it after STEPHANIE wouldn't have caused the backlash it's been receiving. The best choice would have been naming it after Chyna, who shared the 'wonder of the world' nickname with Andre, and would have served as a means of properly celebrating her, but y'know... we can't have nice things.

And lastly, this year's Hall of Fame is probably the most bizarre one ever.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
WWE decided to scrap the "Fabulous Moolah" title for the Mania Women's Battle Royal. Pleasantly surprised, though it still makes their video package last week that featured many of the current roster praising Moolah a bit awkward.

It really should have been Chyna all along, but just calling it the Women’s Dre would be fine.

It's pretty big progress that they are viewed as big enough stars to not need a mouthpiece to talk for them, but the audience just shows their typical, wrestling-crowd ignorance. It is funny how "WHAT?" has hung on so much.

Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
I know Bryan is probably the most beloved superstar of the past decade, but I didn't expect this much attention! #1 trend worldwide on twitter, crashing WWE and other wrestling sites, his return being covered by NBC and other major outlets, etc..
Smackdown's ratings tonight are probably going to be the highest in years.
I'm curious as to the extent of his return. I'm sure he'll get a Mania match because Smackdown desperately needs another must-see match on the card besides Styles/Nakamura.

Seems likely, and probably a no DQ match or something with there being some career stipulations on the line.
