2018 deaths
Dolores O'Riodan (lead singer of the Cranberries). I only know their four biggest hits but I liked them all

Re: 2018 deaths
Yeah very sad. RIP Dolores. Her voice was haunting and beautiful. Iconic.

Re: 2018 deaths
I'm usually the first to pile on a singer, but I don't think that one is on her unless she decided to set the anthem with a jazz arrangement. I'm far from a jingoist, but I wouldn't have a problem if the person who arranged that was arrested for treason and sentenced to death.
It's an anthem. It's not some beatnik cafe in 1962.
What I want to know is how she managed to keep going when the camera cut to Draymond Green laughing (appropriately) which caused everyone in the stadium to laugh as well. Following it with a shot of Jimmy Kimmel laughing as well didn't help either. For all she knows they were laughing AT her. But for better or worse she somehow kept going.
Edit: I rewatched it. It’s on her too. You can set it to jazz and still not sing it like an asshole.
I think you can add Fergie’s career to the list. Based on Twitter, she’s never going to be taken seriously (even as a dumb pop artist) again after tonight

Re: 2018 deaths
Oh come on, it wasn't that bad. It was a bit cringe-worthy but so what? And the end of her career? Please. Blowing it completely out of proportion. Kevin Spacey's career is over, not Fergie's for singing a bad song badly. And considering the amount of good songs she's sung well, she has enough goodwill to ride out a little bit of Twitter nonsense.

Fuck. Emma Chambers died. She was just 53. Most memorable for her role in Dawn French's The Vicar of Dibley.

Re: 2018 deaths
I'm unapologetic in my love of Kevin Smith. I love most of his movies, I listen to his podcasts constantly, and he just seems like a genuinely good person. So I'm glad we didn't lose him. Of course he isn't the picture of health (although he seems to have lost weight from his heaviest days), but hopefully he doesn't squander his second chance.
I appreciate his facebook post about not being afraid to die if last night was the moment it all ended for him.
