Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
releasing September 22 against Ninjago and Friend Request.
I see it doing similar #s to the first, though I hope it does better.

With so many release date changes I don't know if the studio is confident in this or they are just toying with this.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
Pretty interesting we're gonna have 4 male-appealing films in a row (American Assassin, Kingsman, American Made, Blade Runner 2046), doesn't seem like a good idea.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
I have an inkling that most people enjoyed the first but are not clamoring for a sequel. Also, this year has not really been kind to sequels. There is certainly a movement of disinterest towards cash-grab sequels. I still see it opening with more than the first. Around $45m, then a finish just slightly more around $135m.

yikes, that's even worse.
This or Blade Runner really should have Dark Tower's date. It's a pretty prime spot with Guardians and Suicide Squad, too bad it's wasted this year.

The Snowman is not a film about a hitman. Go watch the trailer in The Trailer Park forum.

This should have been an August release. Hope it does well enough for the series to continue.

The trailer was fine, but it doesn't really differentiate itself from the first.
It will do fine, but this really should have broken out.

Not really expecting anything big for this, hope I'm wrong. I'm thinking high 30's opening.

Agreed - I've been feeling low on this one for awhile. My gut says $75 million total - I hope I'm wrong, as I loved the first. The sequel just doesn't look that unique enough to warrant a close gross to the original.
They need to tell a better character story in the trailers - no one really stands out in any of them for you to care about.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
Should still be able to do $35-$40m OW which should be good enough for $100m.
Will be interesting to see how all these male driven films fair. Blade Runner is tracking at $40m+ so i suspect American Made will be the one to suffer the most. Should have been released in August.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
I've only seen people talk about this film. I think it'll do 55+ OW. I just hope it's awesome.

Is it possible for it to do that big of OW when the strong competition is It? Obviously, that would be awesome though.

Shouldn't be a problem since it will be It's third weekend. I see Kingsman making about 45 million maybe could do 50. Should top It as #1 film next weekend.
The hype/buzz for this doesn't feel BIG, but I'm not underestimating it. I still see an OW over $40M and it could possibly touch $50M if it gets a serious boost from reviews. I think $55M+ is a bit much though, especially with It coming off a $60M+ second weekend, although It will be facing it's first major competition as well.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
I really think the internet hype my be getting in the way of tracking. For most people it's their most anticipated film of the year after SW. It should be a nonfactor making under 35 million at that point. The marketing campaign over the first week of football and the eclipse was awesome.
I just can't see how a film that was beloved like Pirates/ Transformers 1, and then the sequel opens less than the first. It'd be like Mad Max 2 not doing well. I agree the weekend was a weak spot, but if any film was worthy of a Twilight to New Moon bump in opening weekend, it's this one.

Re: Kingsman: The Golden Circle predictions
So nobody predicted this correctly, though Magnus's opening weekend prediction was the closest ($1m away). His total will also be the closest, but he misjudged the film's legs.
