Re: The Lion King (live-action) over 750m domestic club
I don't get how or why they'll do a live-action remake? Admittedly, it's been a while since I've seen The Lion King, but there are no human characters, right? Are they going to Babe this and have human voiceovers on real animals? If the characters are CG, it's just a remake, even if everything else is live action.

That's what it is. A CG remake.

$600m+ maybe but 750m. That's a bit steep.
$595-$605m

With the 7/19/2019 release date announced, I'm in. It's going to have an absolutely gigantic OW, and then over a month of summer weekdays. I'm feeling a TDK adjusted + 3D style run.

It will be interesting to see how big this will open. It could challenge SW7's OW IMO.

The Lion King wins the yearly crown over both Star Wars and Frozen 2.

As much as I hate to say it I'm fucking IN. I have a feeling this will challenge Episode 9 that year for the number 1 spot and possibly win. It's opening in the heart of summer and with weekdays/3D this is bound to happen if its really good.

Weekdays and 3D boost aren't as big boost as December holidays that SW7 is enjoying.

And that's exactly what they showed at D23 today. People went nuts for it. Assuming they'll use the same footage for the teaser eventually.

Re: The Lion King (live-action) over 750m domestic club
I remember seeing the circle of life sequence in front of maybe Mrs Doubtfire in late 93. It gave me goosebumps. Hopefully this packs a similar punch.
