Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
That running time is really surprising, but I do remember reading somewhere that it would be Nolan's shortest film. Still I was expecting at least a full two hours.

I would guess it feels longer than it is considering it's apparently full bore suspense for the entire runtime. Can you imagine that type of movie at 2.5-3 hours long? Wears out its welcome with a lot of people I would think. Nice to see Nolan show some restraint on this project.

It's supposedly like 2013's Gravity but with World War 2.

I think he is saying that visually it is this year's Gravity (i.e. must be seen in IMAX, 70mm etc.).

Critics embargo is supposedly the 17th, Monday before release. WB hasn't been releasing their reviews earlier than release week so not surprised.

Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
Even if the embargo was a minute before release, people would not see this as a bad sign. They would see it as a "WB are doing a service to loyal fans to not spoil anything" move.

PS in korea is of to a flyer. It has sold 5998 tickets on its 1st day. That is faster than even Spidey if I am not wrong. It will be huge in korea(Interstellar sold over 10m tickets). Nolan fan power will be in big play in many markets(Domestic, UK, AU and Asia).

Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
I wasn't convincing you but with that video you are trying to prove something which I never asked or commented in the first place.
Also thanks for the video but he didn't mention anything about pacing being fast. All he mentioned was that he doesn't want the theatrics of the actors tell us about the incident rather than the situation itself, doesn't mean it cannot be a suspenseful slow-burner.

Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
I'll never understand this idea that Nolan is this huge box office titan. Without the Batman films (and, to an extent, it is right to disregard them because it's Batman, not Nolan, that is making these films so big), he has made one film over $200m, and that starred Leonardo DiCaprio and came out while buzz was still high on Nolan's Batman trilogy. If his films make $100-$200m, all should be happy, because that's where he is as a director. That's his range.

Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
Not sure about older crowds, but Nolan is the biggest director among hipster millenials. The folks at Honest Trailers joke that he gets a life time pass because of TDK, similar to Cameron with Aliens/T2. That is probably pretty much accurate. He's a more mainstream Tarrantino.

Re: Dunkirk 225m+ Club
He is mainstream, and he is the big director with millenials, but he's still no Cameron or Spielberg in terms of box office.
