Re: Wonder Woman predictions
I hope this movie shows the power of the female audience unlike any other superhero film before. Come on ladies get into formation and push this over 400m.

The Joker and Harley were a huge pull for that film. Without them, it would not have made $200m.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
Damn reviews for this aren't just good their fucking excellent. This should definitely have good WOM and dominate the rest of June considering the weak line up, but I still don't want to over predict it.

Yes the reviews are really encouraging. Let's see how this changes the WoM.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
Having slept on it, I'm upping my prediction again. Friday: $68 million ($21 million previews) Saturday: $49 million Sunday: $37 million Opening Weekend: $154 million Domestic Total: $445 million (2.89) Worldwide Total: $930 million (not expecting much overseas for this first one) Magnus wrote: I won't go to Jons level Me outpredicting you on a DC movie, what's up with that?

YOU'RE INSANE! If it's opening to $150+M OW, we're going to have to start seeing evidence of strong presales on MT and Fandango pretty soon.

I don't see this having higher previews than Suicide Squad.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
Walk ups will be much stronger here than with either SS or BvS obviously.
Not sure where this lands, but this is first real " summer opening potential maximizer" since jurassic world. Where it's ceiling is will be difficult to predict.
The reviews being AMAZING, as opposed to merely 'good' or 'solid' is a true wild card.

Are you sure? It has a lot of ancient myth/urban fantasy elements which tend to kill overseas.

Going to need over $15 mil in Previews to have a shot at $130+ mil OW, IMO.

Hype for Suicide Squad still seemed bigger. Can't imagine it does more than that.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
AVENGERS predictions were in the 140s-150 until it got incredible reviews/WOM, and then they were upped to 160-170. DARK KNIGHT predictions were in 110-120s until it got GOAT reviews/WOM and then they went up to 130-140. SPIDER-MAN predictions were in the 65-70m range until it got incredible reviews/WOM, then it went up to 80-85. Thinking this lands right around BVS territory (160-170) which is enormous. But potential is there for more. zwackerm wrote: Hype for Suicide Squad still seemed bigger. Can't imagine it does more than that. It did, but we have no idea how much reviews impacted that movies opening.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
The difference in enthusiasm between a 75-80% on RT and 95%+ is big. The rush to go see this asap is real. Remember how pathetic MAD MAX was clearly going go open until it got amazing reviews. Same deal here. Chippy wrote: Going to need over $15 mil in Previews to have a shot at $130+ mil OW, IMO. I don't think so. With families, this play out much more like a Marvel movie. Saturday and Sunday numbers will be great. Anything over $20m in previews and I suspect this challenges $200m opening weekend.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
After seeing the movie I am also surprised the reviews are THIS great. It does a lot of things right and its MUCH better than SS and BvS but its still not at the level of TDK and other movies that the reviews are suggesting. I guess the lowered expectations help a lot.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
He liked the first half but he said it got slow, thought the ending was cliche and he thought the whole 'love' concept at the end was cheesy. He also made fun of some of the final battle. Said everything was too dramatic, which I didn't really think so.

Re: Wonder Woman predictions
I'm hoping it has a great weekend. I'm gonna see it Thursday @ 7 Imax but even that showing is not sold out. It still had 450+ seats open as of yesterday and that's the main Imax theatre in my town.
