Re: March 24-26 Predictions
Yeah, presales for this are disappointing. I'd say 40m seems like the max now.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
Fandango's experienced quite a few technical glitches the last 2 weeks. Wonder what's going on with them?

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
8% for PR doesn't seem that impressive but you can't expect it to budge much against a behemoth like BATB.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
On MovieTickets, Beauty and the Beast has inched up from 65 percent on Tuesday back to 70 percent at the moment. I'm not sure I recall seeing that happen before for something high-profile entering its second weekend.
The strong Tuesday increases across the board could come into play with that I guess, but still not the norm either way.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
What if Power Rangers dropped 80% next week because 90% of the tickets were given out free this weekend?

Quote: We were so blessed to watch an early screening of the film yesterday. Undoubtedly the most powerful faith-based film this year. Please run, don't walk, to see this film when it opens March 24 - it will be in a theater near you
I was extremely impressed by this movie and I already expected it to be good based on the trailers. This story was told so beautifully and with so much heart. The actors were great, especially Michael Irvin who plays the hard-bitten sports agent - never knew he could act! I was impressed with the acting overall. Amazing since they're all slam-dunking champions!
'Slama Jama' provides an honest and realistic look at life and how putting God first can make a difference. If you are struggling with life this is a good movie to receive positive direction and hope that there is more than we can see that influences us each day. So many things in this movie are true to life...real situations for real people.
The plot is fantastic and the message is one of great importance, especially today. This is a film with a single purpose in mind: Redemption. I agree with the other posters in that this is the best sports, faith-based movie ever. IMDb review. Love it. Y'all. They're ALL slam-dunking champions! Who knew they'd be such a slam dunk in the acting department too?!

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
The 7pm showing of Power Rangers I'm going to sold out 2 hours in advance because they moved it to the smaller theater for BatB...

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
No idea what to expect for previews. I'm thinking below Kong, but how much below?
3 million flat is my guess. It will be more front loaded.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
Iv'e seen quite a few sellouts for it here aswell, but it's strange how it has so few showtimes. One theatre in particular only it had it showing three times tonight, and it sold-out every showing there. I think $3M sounds like a good enough number for it, but that would still translate to an opening in mid maybe high 30's at best.

I really can't believe the lack of interest in it. Seemed like something that should do solid numbers. Especially with that cast.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
I think Power Rangers will do 4+ in Thursday showings. Several theaters seemed to have sell-outs.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
They moved Power Rangers to the big theater when I got out of the 7PM... lol, I don't get why they thought it was a good idea to not put it on at least one big auditorium.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
So we got Katamarayudu, and it's now on MT. The crazy thing is the distributor dictated that the opening night price had to be $25 for an adult ticket (and I checked, it's not just our chain, it's everyone playing it). WTF? Our normal price for an evening adult show on a regular, non-PLF screen is $10.50. After opening night Katamarayudu goes down to $17.50, which is still insane.
Also, at my theatre Power Rangers did over 4X better than Life and Chips, but still not great.

Re: March 24-26 Predictions
Our PR previews here were in the neighborhood of $4m based on recent trends. I'd be surprised with less than $3.5m.
