The First amendment does not protect threats of violence.

It does not protect against "true threats" under the First Amendment which Snoop's video obviously was not. See Watts v. U.S.

What are your thoughts on "hate speech"? Genuinely curious.

Well, hate speech is quite subjective. What might be hateful to one person might not be to another.

I still can't believe that the leader of the free world can't go a week without peddling some new spin on some insane conspiracy theory. I'll give him some credit, though: with no less than four balls in the air between the "budget" proposal, Travel Ban 2.0, Trumpcare/Ryan's health care bill, and the great Obama/Britain deep state wiretapping scandal, it's tough to stay focused on which dumpster fire is in most immediate need of attention.

I don't think he will be kicked out until 2020 at the earliest.

I mean he's said awful shit to the press, and he tweets about far too many conspiracy theories, but beyond the initial travel ban, I wouldn't call anything else he's done a "dumpster fire catastrophe". Maybe not great, but nothing that signifies impeachment.

Re: The Trump Era: The Awkward Mix of Libertarianism and Fas
The trouble is that enough Republicans either don't see or don't care how damaging Trump's actions have been. So long as they know that they have an especially pliable president who will go along with whatever they want so long as they keep him happy, I don't see them lifting a finger to impeach him.

Dems would have to win big in 2018 to get him out before 2020.

He would also have to be convicted for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors". Even with Democrat majorities, they can't impeach him without them. Even if they don't like his policies, those are the only things you can impeach for. I don't think this Russia conspiracy theory investigation is going to amount to anything more than Hillary's email conspiracy theory investigation did.

You're a fool if you think there is more to Hillary's email "scandal" than there is to Trump's ties to Russia.
Also, Clinton got impeached for lying about having sex. They could easily find something FAR worse on Trump.

But I think odds are it's all a lot of hullabaloo about nothing, just like her emails turned out to be. Also, Clinton was acquitted. He was lying under oath. If Trump lied under oath he would get impeached too. He hasn't though, and I don't think he will. Even if Trump did get impeached, its highly likely he could get acquitted too.

The guy lies all the time when he's not under oath; what make you think putting him under oath will make a difference? The GOP went out of their way to get Clinton; they had no scandal they could impeach him on, so they had an investigation, asked him about things that were personal and none of our business, and then charged him with lying about a consensual sexual relationship he had. They created the entire thing; if they hadn't investigated him desperately trying to find something, it wouldn't have happened. There was no underlying crime. They did the same thing to Obama and Hillary -- millions of our tax dollars were spent trying to find any wrongdoing with Benghazi or Hillary's emails and they found nothing at all. How many investigations have been done on Trump? None, of course, because the GOP isn't really interested in trying to find out if something has been done illegally -- they only use that for going after Democrats.

Impeachment is a political and not a legal tool. If they had a majority they could impeach him for whatever they want if they have the votes. It would be horrible for the Republic but they could do it. Notice "high crimes and misdemeanors" is vague and could be anything and even if he was impeached for something petty, what is Trump's remedy? The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction and the Chief Justice even presides over the trial.

Have there not been investigations going on about Russia? You act like Democrats are not the same way. You think the Democrat controlled House and Executive branch would have called for Obamas impeachment even if he'd done something wrong? Probably not, because they liked what he was doing. And no, I don't think you can base what Trump would do under oath off what he tweets.

What he tweets? Do you not listen to any speech he gives? Any transcript he's given with anybody, at any time? He lies all the time.

Comey testified that there is zero evidence to support any wiretapping claims.
Let's see how long President Jackass keeps claiming it happened though.
