Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
I've known plenty of people (girls, mostly, I guess) who were intermittently vegan/vegetarian simply for the health benefits. None of them were really attention-seeking about it.
It's something I've considered trying myself, since all of them seemed to find it remarkable how much better they felt in general after a week or two of cutting out animal products.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
It seems the one health issue from vegetarianism is a tendency to overload on carbs, which can be significantly worse for your health than lean meats like fish and poultry.
For lunch today I had a plate of ziti and a bowl of fruit. I realize I can't have big plate of pasta at every meal or I'll end up at 200 lb, lol.

Well, they told you, didn't they? That's the problem nowadays. Nobody can keep anything to themselves. As soon as a decision is made, it's up on Facebook or Instagram. And once people stop liking and commenting, the idea gets dropped (just like your friends did).

One of my friends has been a vegetarian for seven years until I actually realized that he was.

Vegans are the worst.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
Well, I lasted for 30 hours. The only vegetarian options I really like in my dining hall are pizza and pasta, and I realized that I will probably die if that's all I eat.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
We will all die. Eat what you want to. Eat healthy but to your limits. There is countless evidence of people who smoke a pack a day live longer than Vegans. When it's your time, it'll happen. Just be happy with what you do, and that's all that really matters. There is nothing worse than a miserable vegan. You're gonna die in you 70-80 most likely no matter what you do.
You could be a vegan and still die after 20 years of Alzheimers or dementia. Be happy and make decisions that work for you.

More like I noticed their weight loss / avoiding of meat and asked.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
The vegentarianism sure as hell did not help the weight loss of several people I know. Because they subsituted meat with mostly what zackerm has mentioned - pizza, pasta, cheese etc.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
Vegetarians can be idiots too, the sort of people who do it because they feel bad for all the baby animals and don't actually look into the do's and dont's at all. I had a coworker a couple of years ago who was a vegetarian because she didn't want ANY animals to be harmed, and she was just... not smart enough to be one? She was absolutely shocked and dumbfounded when I pointed out to her that the cheese she was eating wasn't her kind of vegetarian because of the rennet in it; it probably didn't help matters when I explained to her that they had to murder and cut open baby cows to get to the rennet in it. Next, I ruined her day more by pointing out that the sambal cheese spread she was having was coloured using shrimp.
Stupid girl, I mean if you're going to make such a big dietary decision the least you could do is look into what it means for you.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
This whole thread is a great example of why our politics are all screwed up.
"Should I become a vegetarian" is a good question that can lead to an interesting discussion about health and morals. Instead, it's turned into another excuse for people to insult each other over their beliefs.
Why do you care if someone is a vegetarian or isn't? How does it hurt you in the slightest either way? Can't we just discuss the positives and negatives of the decision without this turning into a "If you disagree with me, you're an idiot" post?

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
This is a stupid question thread. Obviously everyone would answer "If you think it could help you health wise, than yes" and the thread is over in 5 posts.
I don't know about you Grouch, but I come on here not to fucking think about politics or real discussions. This site has absolutely no correlation to the current political climate because it has always been a joke site. There is occasionally some good insight on box-office.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
No, that would have to be the loser making threads highlighting his really embarrassing love life, or trying to own this site of all places. Seriously let it die and no one will care. This whole site needs a lobotomy if this is how they act in real life.
And I stand corrected Grouch. Lecter just ruined the thread with an unrelated attack, or compliment really, but still unrelated.
Though I say give him a pass. He flipped the fuck out on someone recently who didn't use the word "eventually" He's obviously going through something bizarre.

Re: Should I become a vegetarian?
My sister is a vegan and she's still trying to lose the baby weight 7 years later and it's really hard for her not to stuff her face with carbs. She only recently after a year of hard effort started seeing success.
I don't think veganism is healthy.

This is the most hilarious, ridiculous thread in the entire world.
Also, I've never wanted to punch zwack in the face more than when I read "maybe rape." Good lord, what an psycho. Thank goodness most teens/early 20 year old's do not share his views. Fucking bonkers that boy is.

Please don't become a teacher. Trust me when I say it is an absolute certainty you will end up in jail if enough people witness you in public. Also, you will ruin every child's life that you teach, so there is that to consider as well.
